Bilco wins architecture award

New Haven, Conn.-based Bilco Co. has won a 2002 Architect’s Choice for Excellence (ACE) Award from Architecture magazine. Companies market SPF systems

Arizona State University (ASU), Tempe, has established its ALPHA Project to identify roof components and application practices that provide high-performance SPF roof systems, as well as contractors who install these systems.

An ALPHA roof system is an SPF roof system that meets or exceeds 20-year performance expectations.

Kennesaw, Ga.-based BASF Corp. and Dallas-based Neogard have partnered to market BASF ELASTOSPRAY™ spray polyurethane foam (SPF) roof insulation with NEOGARD PERMATHANE II FR urethane roof coating—components of an ALPHA roof system.

BASF and Neogard are partners in the ALPHA Project. The manufacturers must abide by ASU’s ALPHA Project rules, such as disclosing third-party information about their SPF roof systems.

For more information about the project, visit www.eas.asu.edu/pbsrg/alpha/alpha_exec_sum.shtml.
