New EPD developed

The Vinyl Roofing Division of the Chemical Fabrics and Film Association (CFFA) has completed an environmental product declaration (EPD) detailing the vinyl roofing industry's environmental footprint based on a life cycle assessment verified by ASTM International in conformance with ISO 14025, "Environmental Labels and Declarations."

The vinyl roofing EPD was based on a cradle-to-building with end-of-life stage scenario, addressing areas the roofing industry has direct control. Development of the EPD was the third phase in an ongoing effort by the Vinyl Roofing Division to achieve transparency with respect to the environmental performance of its products. In 2013, CFFA's membership collaborated with ASTM International and SPRI to publish product category rules for single-ply roof membranes made with thermoplastic or thermoset materials.
