ARMA presents Public Partnership Award

The Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA) has presented the 2017 ARMA Public Partnership Award to the Miami-Dade Regulatory and Economic Resources Department.

The award recognizes extraordinary partnerships formed by ARMA and was given to the Miami-Dade Regulatory and Economic Resources Department in recognition of its strong collaboration with ARMA to update the Florida Building Code requirements in high-wind zones.

During the past two years, Miami-Dade Regulatory and Economic Resources Department staff and ARMA representatives worked on updating the roofing requirements for the High Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ), which included removing outdated references and coordinating the HVHZ protocols with national testing requirements. Every proposal and public comment jointly submitted by ARMA and the Miami-Dade Regulatory and Economic Resources Department will be included in the 2017 Florida Building Code when it launches Jan. 1, 2018.
