What is your position within your company?
I am operations manager for J.S. Wagner Co. Inc., Hyattsville, Md.

What is the most unusual roofing project of which you have been a part?
I replaced the steeple on Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Kensington, Md.

Why did you become involved in the roofing industry?
I always have been involved in construction. I found a good fit at J.S. Wagner, and it has worked out well for all parties.

What was your first roofing experience?
My first roofing experience was when I worked as a laborer tearing off shingles.

What is your roofing industry involvement?
J.S. Wagner is an NRCA member, and I currently am enrolled in NRCA University's Future Executives Institute, Class 8. My company also is involved with the Mid Atlantic Roofing Contractors Association.

What was your first job?
When I was a kid, I had a grass-cutting business.

People would be surprised to know …
I was a commercial diver and owned a small business working in Baltimore's harbor.

What quality do you most admire in a person?
A good work ethic

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? Why?
I plan to go to Costa Rica to take advantage of the great fishing there.

What do you consider a waste of time?
I hate stopping to get gas.

What's the most exciting/adventurous thing you've done?
I recently proposed to my girlfriend (now fiancée), Katie, and she said "yes."

What is your favorite stress reliever?
I love to fish—it's a great stress reliever.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A tugboat captain

What is your favorite food?
Pizza

My favorite part about working in the roofing industry is …
I like experiencing different projects and different challenges—no two projects are the same.

What's your favorite roofing material to work with? Why?
I enjoy the metal work my company does because it's quite traditional and interesting—not many companies still complete Old World-type work.

What is the most high-tech item in your house?
My cell phone

If you could meet any historical figure, whom would you meet? Why?
I would like to meet George Washington to see whether he approves of who we are now as a country.

Small town

What do you consider your most rewarding experience?
Finishing college
