What is your position within your company?
I am chief operating officer of Mid-South Roof Systems, Atlanta.

What is the most unusual roofing project of which you have been a part?
I worked on a project to reroof the luxury skyboxes at Sanford Stadium, Athens, Ga. We tore off the old roof system and installed a new single-ply PVC system. We had to crawl under several electrical houses on the roof as we installed the new roof system, but I liked the bird's eye view I had every day of my alma mater, the University of Georgia. Go Dawgs!

Why did you become involved in the roofing industry?
While working in the information technology industry, I decided to make a career change. At the recommendation of a good friend, I accepted a position with Mid-South Roof Systems. Joining the Mid-South team is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I've enjoyed being part of the company's growth and success.

What was your first roofing experience?
When I started working at Mid-South Roof Systems, I did a little bit of everything. One of my first assignments was to drive a box truck to a pre-job meeting in Virginia and unload three completed roofs on my way home by removing all the debris from each one and loading equipment and salvageable materials into the truck to bring back to our shop.

If you had a time machine, would you go to the future or the past? Why?
It can be a full-time job just living in the present, but I guess I would go to the past and, for starters, be at Game 6 of the 1995 World Series to watch the Atlanta Braves win.

What is your roofing industry involvement?
Mid-South Roof Systems is a member of NRCA and the Roofing & Sheet Metal Contractors Association of Georgia. I am a recent graduate of NRCA's Future Executives Institute, Class 6.

What was your first job?
I worked in my father's construction business as a carpenter's helper.

What qualities do you most admire in a person?
I appreciate anyone who can be flexible when plans change and who is not afraid to try new things.

People would be surprised to know …
I'm a huge Disney fan.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be? Why?
I would want to have the ability to read people's minds so I don't have to ask them what they are thinking.

What do you consider a waste of time?
Government paperwork

What's the most exciting/adventurous thing you've done?
I can't think of anything more adventurous than raising three teenage boys with my wife. We do not lack excitement in our house.

What are your favorite stress relievers?
Reading a good book or running

What three condiments always are in your fridge?
Spicy brown mustard, Louisiana Hot Sauce and salsa

What's your favorite roofing material to work with? Why?
We mainly install single-ply roof systems, so it always is interesting to learn about new roofing technologies.

What do you consider your most rewarding experiences?
My most rewarding experiences happen when I have the opportunity to help others and make a difference in people's lives. I get to do that as part of my role at Mid-South Roof Systems, at my church where I serve as an elder, and as a husband and father.

My favorite part about working in the roofing industry is …
Solving problems with some of the best and smartest people I know. I enjoy what I do mainly because of the great working relationships we have within our management team.
