How well do you know NRCA?

Maybe your company has been an NRCA member for generations, or maybe you just joined the association a few months ago. Regardless of your tenure, I am nearly certain you are not aware of everything the association has to offer its members.

Some offerings are fairly new. For example, NRCA is launching a series of regional conferences to provide members with access to speakers and information about current industry issues and trends. The first conference will be held March 18 in Arlington, Texas. Roofing professionals are encouraged to take advantage of this one-day learning experience that will provide in-depth information about the most critical safety, risk management, technical, building code and legislative issues affecting roofing businesses. In addition, Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) is an invited guest. NRCA plans to hold similar conferences in the near future; the dates and locations will be announced soon.

NRCA also offers free monthly webinars for members. Upcoming topics include how to use the EnergyWise program, ways to maximize customer service and a technical issues update.

And in 2013, NRCA launched its bimonthly Industry Issue Updates addressing timely topics such as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and employment law.

But there also are several resources that have been available for members for years that many are not using to their fullest potential. For example, NRCA members can realize significant discounts with Hertz,® FedEx® and Shell among other vendors through NRCA's affinity partnerships. And with roofing technology developing faster than ever and OSHA regulations becoming ever more intrusive, NRCA members can call NRCA's Technical Services and Risk Management Sections any time to receive expert advice.

Members who are engaged with NRCA will get the most from their memberships. I encourage you to download Professional Roofing's digital edition for your tablet, register on NRCA's website (www.nrca.net), subscribe to NRCA's weekly E-News, like NRCA on Facebook and follow NRCA on Twitter. You'll be surprised at the wealth of information available to you.
