Focus

A bigger, better magazine

Welcome to the new Professional Roofing! As you no doubt have noticed, we've undergone some changes with this issue—the most obvious being our increased size and change in logo and typeface.

But there also are some other new elements inside. First, you'll see Close-up. In this new monthly section, we'll feature a photo submitted by a reader and award a $50 Visa gift card to the reader whose photo is chosen. I encourage you to send in your photos—details about submitting photos can be found on www.professionalroofing.net by clicking on the Close-up link.

We've introduced an additional column, as well: Environment Matters. Environment Matters will appear bimonthly, alternating with our Workplace column. It will focus on roofing-related environmental issues and be written by Craig Silvertooth, executive director of the newly established Center for Environmental Innovation in Roofing.

We also have restructured the placement of some columns and departments for better readability. For example, we have moved our Briefings department closer to the front of the magazine. In addition, our popular monthly feature focusing on a roofing project will be given more prominence in the middle of the magazine.

You'll also notice a new look to Professional Roofing's Web site, www.professionalroofing.net. There, you'll find even more Web exclusive information than before, an additional Online Profile feature, an improved article rating system, and a more streamlined way to search for past articles and issues.

The entire Professional Roofing staff has worked hard to improve the magazine for you. We plan to tweak certain design and content aspects from time to time, and it's always helpful to hear from you. If you have feedback, suggestions, etc., we'd love to hear them. Please e-mail your comments to professionalroofing@professionalroofing.net.

Enjoy your new magazine!
