Get ready to celebrate!

Now that the excitement from the 2018 International Roofing Expo® (IRE) and NRCA's 131st Annual Convention has subsided, it's time to start planning for the next big industrywide event of the year—National Roofing Week. This year, National Roofing Week will take place June 3-9, and once again NRCA is hosting a Children's Art Contest to kick off the festivities.

Sponsored by A.C.T. Metal Deck Supply, Aurora, Ill., and the IRE, the contest is open to children in grades 1-8 who are relatives of NRCA members and their employees.

This year's contest theme question is: What will roofs look like in the future? Children may also consider what they might look like if they were to become roofing professionals. Winners will be announced during National Roofing Week.

The deadline for entries is April 16. For more information and an entry form, click here or contact Charlotte Norgaard, NRCA's media relations manager, at (847) 493-7548 or cnorgaard@nrca.net.

About a month before National Roofing Week, each NRCA contractor member once again will receive a National Roofing Week kit, which will include detailed social media posting instructions, as well as social media cards to use in social media posts.

To date, this year's National Roofing Week sponsors include ABC Supply Co. Inc., Beloit, Wis.; ChemLink, Schoolcraft, Mich.; Duro-Last® Inc., Saginaw, Mich.; FlashCo, Santa Rosa, Calif.; GAF, Parsipanny, N.J.; Insulfoam, Puyallup, Wash.; KM Coatings, Phoenix; Polyglass U.S.A. Inc., Deerfield Beach, Fla.; National Women in Roofing; and SOPREMA® Inc., Wadsworth, Ohio.

National Roofing Week has continued to grow in popularity and industry engagement. During National Roofing Week 2017, NRCA reached nearly 115,000 people with its Thunderclap campaign; increased its Facebook reach 82 percent to 23,802; and increased its Twitter activity 104 percent. This year, NRCA hopes to continue to build on this success.

Ambika Puniani Reid is editor of Professional Roofing and NRCA's vice president of communications and production.
