In March, Firestone Building Products Co. LLC, Indianapolis, launched a new formulation of polyisocyanurate insulation, ISO 95+™ GL Insulation.

During the manufacturing process, a blend of polyester polyol, catalysts, surfactants and a flame retardant are injected between two facers. The chemicals react to form a foam board made of closed-cell polyisocyanurate foam. The board then is heated, hardened, trimmed and cut.

The ISO 95+ GL Insulation boards require less energy to manufacture than other boards and are designed for extreme weather conditions.
