It’s celebration time!

National Roofing Week is approaching, so get ready to celebrate the industry

This month, all NRCA contractor members will receive their 2019 National Roofing Week kits. As in years past, the kits will include social media cards to use in social media posts, as well as the schedule for social media posts for National Roofing Week, June 2-8.

Organized by NRCA, National Roofing Week's mission is to increase awareness across the U.S. about the significance of roofs; the importance of hiring professional NRCA roofing contractors; and making informed decisions about maintaining, repairing and replacing any roof system.

NRCA encourages all members to participate in National Roofing Week by engaging in their communities and informing the public about the essential role roofs and professional roofing contractors play in every community.

This year, in celebration of National Roofing Week, NRCA will host the We are Family Raffle, sponsored by A.C.T. Metal Deck Supply, Aurora, Ill. Open to all NRCA member companies, including manufacturers and distributors, the raffle involves companies taking a group photo of all employees—their "roofing family"—and submitting it to NRCA for a chance to win a prize. The deadline for entries is Wednesday, May 29.

NRCA will draw three winners at random. Winners will be announced Friday, June 7, and will have their choice of $500 party packs for their roofing families.

Also new this year is NRCA Giving Day, which will culminate June 7. NRCA Giving Day will raise funds to benefit the Roofing Alliance's Melvin Kruger Endowed Scholarship Program and help shape the future of the roofing industry. NRCA's goal is to raise money to provide additional scholarships to college and vocational-technical school students who plan to pursue careers in the roofing or building construction industries.

Members throughout the world are encouraged to share their stories of charitable giving with NRCA, which will promote their efforts through social media and Professional Roofing magazine.

I look forward to celebrating the industry with you!

Ambika Puniani Reid is editor of Professional Roofing and NRCA's vice president of communications and production.
