NRCA membership benefits

  • American Express® offers NRCA members free rewards, business-building benefits and NRCA credits when members use American Express' corporate OPEN® card. This program is available to NRCA members and nonmembers, as well as GAF-certified contractors. Contractors who do not already have an American Express business card will receive $250 in NRCA credit—$350 if the contractor is GAF-certified—that can be used for any NRCA product, program and/or service, including NRCA membership, publications and educational conferences. NRCA offers ConsensusDOCS

ConsensusDOCS industry model contract documents are now available through NRCA's bookstore at a reduced price to NRCA members. Published jointly by 21 construction industry organizations, the contract documents were drafted to benefit the construction industry by providing model contract language drafted with industrywide participation.

ConsensusDOCS contract series documents include General Contracting, Collaborative Documents, Design-Build, Construction Management at Risk, Subcontracting and Program Management. ConsensusDOCS documents are intended to save all involved parties time and money by eliminating the need to renegotiate one-sided contractual terms.

China roofing show was a success

NRCA co-sponsored China National Waterproofing and Building Materials International Association's (CNWBMIA's) sixth annual China Roofing & Waterproofing exposition June 12-14 in Shanghai. The event drew 10,000 attendees and 160 exhibitors from 14 countries.

As the event's co-sponsor, NRCA assists CNWBMIA in promoting the show to NRCA members and helps sell booth space to international exhibitors located outside China. NRCA also assists CNWBMIA when it attends NRCA events.

During this year's event, NRCA was able to attract new exhibitors for the 2009 International Roofing Expo,® which will be held in Las Vegas Feb. 1-5, 2009. Additionally, NRCA added a new member from China and sold several of its publications to a nonprofit organization that is working with the Chinese government to set standards for China's roofing industry.

China Roofing & Waterproofing 2009 will take place in Beijing Oct. 14-17, 2009.

NRLRC to hold annual seminar

The National Roofing Legal Resource Center's (NRLRC's) 29th annual seminar, Roofing Issues: Decks to Dockets, will be held Nov. 6-8 at Hilton Head Marriott Resort and Spa, Hilton Head, S.C.

The three-day seminar will provide in-depth information about current legal, contractual, technical, insurance and safety issues to help improve companies' operations. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from some of the industry's brightest experts while interacting with peers in a hands-on format.
