NRCA launches redesigned Web site

Later this month, NRCA will launch a redesigned version of its Web site, www.nrca.net. The Web site will feature a new look and restructured navigation.

The Web site's content and navigation will be customized for NRCA's three primary audiences: members, roofing professionals and consumers. Users will be able to click the appropriate category to access information best suited for them. Each category has a specific color, which is reflected in the tabs, to give users a visual reference of their location on the Web site.

NRCA's home page will have a modular format to include as much content as possible. The new format will provide details about NRCA's products and services, as well as highlight information from various sections of the Web site.

The Web site will include a new section below the left navigation with links to NRCA's related Web sites such as Professional Roofing, SpecRight, the National Roofing Legal Resource Center, Roof Wind Designer, EnergyWise Roof Calculator Online and the board of directors/Executive Committee section.

From any page on the Web site, users can search for information, join NRCA, e-mail or print a page, find an NRCA contractor member, access quick links to frequently accessed information, register for NRCA's electronic communications, read NRCA and roofing industry news, or take NRCA's online polls.

Gold Circle Award entry deadline nears

NRCA is seeking nominations for its 2009 Gold Circle Awards program, which recognizes NRCA members for significant contributions to the roofing industry.

Gold Circle Award categories include outstanding workmanship—low-slope; outstanding workmanship—steep-slope; innovative solutions—new construction; innovative solutions—reroofing; service to the community; and service to the industry.

Additionally, the Gold Circle Safety Award will be presented for an accident-free project where public protection challenges demanded creative safety solutions, challenging safety procedures or extensive involvement of multiple trades. The safety award is not a Gold Circle Award nomination category but a special honor awarded by the Gold Circle judges.

In 2007, NRCA introduced the Gold Circle Platinum Award to honor companies whose Gold Circle Award submissions excel in all facets and surpass all other entries. The Gold Circle Platinum Award and Gold Circle Safety Award will continue to be awarded for exemplary roofing projects but will not necessarily be awarded every year if no projects are found to be eligible.

Unique roofing-related projects, programs and services completed between June 1, 2006, and May 31, 2008, are eligible for the competition. Entries must be postmarked by Sept. 19. Winners will be honored during NRCA's 122nd Annual Convention in Las Vegas.

For more information or to obtain a Gold Circle Award application, contact Chrystine Hanus, NRCA's executive assistant, at (800) 323-9545, ext. 7522 or chanus@nrca.net.
