National Roofing Week!

Join us in celebrating the industry

By most accounts, the roofing industry has had a pretty good year so far. The 2018 International Roofing Expo® (IRE) in February was a resounding success; the inaugural Roofing Day in D.C. in March brought together all sectors of the industry to speak with one voice; and contractors and manufacturers report a full slate of work going into the busy spring season. These are only a few of the reasons to celebrate the roofing industry during National Roofing Week, which takes place June 3-9.

Organized by NRCA, National Roofing Week seeks to increase awareness about the significance of roofs to every home and building and share the good deeds of the industry. National Roofing Week also promotes the importance of hiring professional roofing contractors and making informed decisions about maintaining or replacing any roof system.

I encourage you to take part in the week's activities—all NRCA contractor members will receive National Roofing Week kits in the mail detailing ways to get involved. The kit will include instructions for how to show your pride in the roofing industry via social media posts and participation in NRCA's Thunderclap campaign, a crowd-speaking platform that allows people to tweet or post a Facebook message on the same day—and at the same time—to achieve the maximum effect and rise above the noise on social media.

And winners of NRCA's fifth annual Children's Art Contest, sponsored by A.C.T. Metal Deck Supply, Aurora, Ill., and the IRE, also will be announced during National Roofing Week. Children entering this year's contest were asked to imagine what roofs will look like in the future or depict what they themselves may look like as future roofing professionals.

National Roofing Week is sponsored by ABC Supply Co. Inc., Beloit, Wis.; A.C.T. Metal Deck Supply; CHEM LINK Inc., Schoolcraft, Mich.; Duro-Last® Inc., Saginaw, Mich.; Flashco, Santa Rosa, Calif.; GAF, Parsippany, N.J.; Insulfoam, Puyallup, Wash.; KM Coatings, Phoenix; National Women in Roofing; Polyglass U.S.A. Inc., Deerfield Beach, Fla.; and SOPREMA® Inc., Wadsworth, Ohio.
