Software offers improvements

Digital Facilities Corp. has made available RoofPro® 4.1, its roof asset management program that now features a redesigned database; new ExplorerTM and Outlook®-based graphics user interface (GUI); expanded roof section summary page; and roof condition index. It also offers improved program tools that accept electronic inspections from RoofPro Inspector.

The redesigned database features a new report library design, as well as more protection from data corruption. The GUI allows users to focus on select information and alerts them to attachments and outstanding tasks. Other RoofPro 4.1 features include new fields for the roof section summary page; a roof condition index based on U.S. Army Construction Engineering Research Laboratory findings; and a backup and restore option.

Saw blades offer smooth cuts

Bosch Power Tools and Accessories has introduced its Professional Series circular saw blade line with 23 woodworking blades and 13 specialty blades that are said to cut smoothly and cleanly into various materials.

The woodworking blades have 20-degree to -10-degree hook angles and are laser-cut and fully hardened. Two of the blades feature laser-cut slots for vibration and noise reduction, and the other blades are coated with an antifriction finish.

The specialty blades include a 10-inch fiber cement blade with a special gullet design and diamond insert carbide teeth; four nonferrous/plastic blades with a zero-degree hook angle and offered in 7¼-, 8-, 10- and 12-inch lengths; two nail-cutting blades with a -10-degree hook angle and 7¼- and 8¼-inch lengths; three 12- and 14-inch rescue blades with a -15-degree hook angle; and three 8¼-, 10- and 12-inch metal cutting blades with a special tensioned and hardened blade body.

Drill features new motor

Metabo Corp. has released the BSZ 12 Cordless Drill/Driver with a motor that offers up to 460 inch-pounds of torque. The 12-volt, 4.4-pound drill/driver can drill up to 3?8-of-an-inch holes in mild steel and up to 1-inch holes in soft wood. It features a built-in fan; three-level planetary gears; and Variospeed, which allows no-load speeds up to 1,350 rotations per minute (rpm).

The BSZ 12 also offers reversing capabilities, 20 torque settings, a keyless ½-inch chuck, drill setting, rubber-coated T handle and auto-stop brushes.

In addition, Metabo Corp. has released its 4.8-volt PowerMaxx cordless drill/driver with two-speed gearbox and maximum torque of 80 inch-pounds. The 1½-pound tool has a no-load speed of 0-200 rpm in screw mode and 0-600 rpm in drill mode. It can drill up to 1/8 of an inch in steel and ¼ of an inch in soft wood.

Roof system resists damage

Versico Inc. has made available its VersiFleece® TPO Fully-Adhered Roofing System with Aqua BaseTM 120 Bonding Adhesive that is said to offer efficient puncture and damage resistance.

Aqua Base 120 Bonding Adhesive can adhere the VersiFleece TPO membrane to the substrate; the membrane is rolled into the adhesive and adjoining sheets are welded together, reducing noise and odor during installation.

VersiFleece has a 12-foot width and 50- or 100-foot length and is offered in three colors—white, gray and tan.

Hybrid shingles feature headlap

Elk Premium Building Products Inc. has combined VersaShield® XP,TM a nonasphaltic headlap, and large exposure laminated shingles to create Prestique® Grandé High Definition® and Domain® Winslow® hybrid shingles.

The shingles are said to conserve asphalt and granules in the headlap, and the asphalt savings is said to reduce the shingle weight for easier handling. The hybrid shingles are said to install quickly because of their larger size. The Prestique Grandé High Definition shingles have an 8¼-inch exposure and up to 90-mph limited wind warranty. Domain Winslow shingles have a random pattern and wood-shake look and up to 110-mph limited wind warranty.
