Seamer is fast

Englert Inc. has introduced its Metal Man ES180 Seamer, which reportedly can produce 180-degree seams in two directions on Englert's 1- and 1 1/2-inch Series 1300 and 1301 standing-seam panels. The seamer features a 1/2-horsepower, 115-volt, gear-driven motor; forward/reverse switch; jog/run switch; panel-end-proximity switch; and adjustable wheel heights.

The Metal Man ES180 is 19 inches long, 19 inches wide and 16 inches tall and weighs 54 pounds. The seamer can be used with the Metal Man ES90 and is said to increase the speed of standing-seam panel installations.

Roof system is movable

Tecta America Corp. has added the TectaGreen™ modular green roof system to its Tecta Environmental Solutions product line. The modular green roof system allows for the moving or removing of vegetation to provide access to a building's roof membrane.

The modular green roof system has 36 4-inch-deep wells that reportedly retain moisture. The roof system can be preplanted or filled on-site and reportedly can be installed on skyscrapers and roofs with elevator access.

Insulation is fire-resistant

Carlisle SynTec Inc. has released its SecurShield™ polyisocyanurate insulation, which reportedly can be applied to wood decks without a fire-rated slip sheet or gypsum cover board for a Class A or Class B fire rating.

SecurShield features a closed-cell polyisocyanurate foam core laminated to polymer-coated glass facers. The insulation reportedly resists fire and moisture and provides wind-uplift resistance.

Guide provides references

The International Code Council and National Association of Home Builders have released Home Builders' Jobsite Codes: a Pocket Guide to the 2006 International Residential Code, which provides references regarding the 2006 International Residential Code's (IRC's) safety requirements. The guide includes IRC's requirements for egress, emergency escapes, fall protection, safe design criteria, fire protection, energy efficiency, and safe and healthy living environments. The guide also features a glossary of construction-related terms.

Coating reduces energy costs

CertainTeed Corp. has expanded its line of low-slope roofing granulated cap sheet membranes coated with CoolStar™ reflective surfaces. CoolStar reflective surfaces now are available on 14 CertainTeed granulated cap sheet membranes.

CoolStar-coated granulated cap sheet membranes are constructed from fiberglass and polyester mats and a layer of asphalt coating, ceramic granules and acrylic-based coating. The granulated cap sheet membranes are said to withstand the negative effects of natural expansion and contraction and reduce energy costs by reducing energy absorbed by roofing materials.

Storage units provide security

Knaack LLC has introduced its Monster Box™ series of job-site storage units—the Piano Box, Cabinet and Chest models.

The Piano Box storage unit is 30 inches wide, 66 inches long and 55 inches tall and has a storage capacity of 48 cubic feet. It contains two fixed shelves and a rack for hanging fall-protection equipment. The Cabinet model has a storage capacity of 52 cubic feet and features two fixed shelves, one adjustable shelf and shelves in the doors. The Chest model is 30 inches wide, 66 inches long and 36 inches tall and has a storage capacity of 31 cubic feet.

All Monster Box models feature locks that are said to be weather- and drill-resistant.

Tile provides color options

Hanson Roof Tile has added six colors to its Venetian tile line: Seashell, Carlsbad, Mint, Crimson, Nova and Sterling.

The colors reportedly have a marbled appearance and weather and wear consistently. The Venetian double-roll, low-profile tiles are now available in 13 colors.

Tether prevents injuries

Hammerhead Industries Inc. has made available its Gear Keeper® TL1-4004 Bucket Heavy Tool Tether, which reportedly helps prevent damage and injuries caused by dropped tools.

The Gear Keeper TL1-4004 is designed for use with tools weighing up to 12 pounds and features a coil system that is fully enclosed in nylon webbing. The tether has a retracted length of 41 inches and an extended length of 123 inches. The tether is made from nonconductive materials and is said to be flexible and durable.

Sealer dries quickly

Nationwide Chemical Coating Manu­facturers Inc. has introduced PERMAPRIME,™ an elastomeric, acrylic, waterproofing primer/sealer.

PERMAPRIME's waterborne, latex-based formula is said to bond, seal, and help insulate most latex-based paints and coatings. The primer/sealer's gray pigmentation reportedly helps it dry quickly by allowing it to absorb heat.

Products increase cross-ventilation

MonierLifetile® LLC has introduced its MonierLifetile Energy Efficient Roof (EER) System product line, which includes the Vented Eave Riser; Elevated Battens; and Ridge Tree, Figaroll and Zephyr Roll ridge and hip accessories. All EER System products reportedly increase air-flow and roof system performance.
