Roll-forming machine is efficient

Englert Inc. has introduced its Metal Man FP1101/16 standing-seam roll-forming machine, which features polyurethane drive rollers and chrome-plated forming rollers.

Metal Man FP1101/16 is available with 16- and 20-inch coverage and runs a fixed-width, variable-length, single-profile configuration. The machine features two pairs of adjustable flat-rib rollers, a 3,000-pound expandable arbor, dual emergency stop switches and a run-out limit switch. The roll-forming machine is said to be efficient and cost-effective.

Additionally, Englert has introduced a full-service shop drawings program based on site-specific architectural drawings and specifications. The program allows contractors to buy manufacturer-generated shop drawings for any Englert roof, wall or soffit system.

Chalk reel saves time

C.H. Hanson Co. has introduced its Chalk Hog™ 100 chalk reel, which features a built-in cleaning pad and high-density line that reportedly resists fraying and breakage.

Shingles offer variety

GAF-Elk Corp. has introduced its TimberĀ­line® Prestique® High Definition® and Timberline Natural Shadow™ shingles.

Timberline Prestique High Definition shingles reportedly are 60 percent thicker than other laminate shingle products and provide dimension and a wood shake appearance. The shingles are available in various colors, including GAF-Elk's Signature Series colors and Cool Colors.

Timberline Natural Shadow shingles reportedly can be used for roof system repairs and remodeling additions, as well as new roofing applications. The shingles feature Dura Grip® adhesive seals, which reportedly can withstand winds up to 70 miles per hour. Timberline Natural Shadow shingles are said to provide an even-toned appearance.

Device repels birds

Bird-B-Gone Inc. has introduced its Bird Repeller, a solar-powered unit that uses continuous motion to prevent large birds from landing on surfaces.

Roof kit generates energy

LUMA Resources LLC has introduced its solar roof kit for residential roof systems. The roof kit uses thin-film photovoltaic solar cell technology and is designed to generate 1,860 watts of domestic electric power.

The solar roof kit includes 60 metal solar shingles, an inverter, and the flashing and components needed to install the system. The kit can be installed in 10 rows of six solar shingles or 12 rows of five solar shingles. Each solar shingle is 51 1/8 inches long and 15 5/8 inches wide and reportedly can be installed anywhere on a roof system.

West Development Group has added R2R™ solvent-free silicone top coat to its System 14™ Total Silicone Roof System. The top coat is made from recycled EPDM material and said to provide long-term performance and easy maintenance.

Firestone Building Products Co. LLC has added RetroGard™ HD cover board to its insulation product line. The cover board is available in 4- by 4-foot and 4- by 8-foot panels and reportedly is compatible with various roof system types.

RetroGard HD has a closed-cell polyisocyanurate core made with IsoGard™ foam technology and is said to offer the highest thermal performance of any 1/2-inch-thick cover board. The cover board is made with a recyclable natural kraft facer and incorporates blowing agents that contain no hydrochlorofluorocarbons.
