Work boots that won't hurt

Georgia Boot® has made available Amplitude and Hammer HD, two new work boot collections designed for comfort. Amplitude work boots feature a high-performance interior mesh lining, Georgia Waterproof System and durable rubber toe and heel protection, as well as an Advanced Memory Polyurethane insole and an oil- and slip-resistant outer sole. Hammer HD work boots reportedly are ideal for rugged job sites and feature a wider toe box, Georgia Waterproof System and abrasion-resistant heel covering, as well as Georgia Boot's Comfort Core 5 insole and an outer sole that won't leave marks and resists abrasion, chemicals, heat and oil. Boots in both collections are made from full-grain leather and have an ergonomically fit composite safety toe said to fit the contours of the foot for comfort and flexibility.

Lightweight self-rescue unit

3M™ has introduced DBI-SALA Self-Rescue 50, a self-rescue unit featuring a universal harness attachment. The flexible, lightweight device allows a user to lower himself or herself to the ground after a fall. An EZ-Link™ D-ring serves as a quick connection point for lanyards or personal self-retracting lifelines, and an assisted rescue ring reportedly enables remote access and deployment by a co-worker if the user is incapable of activating the device. DBI-SALA Self-Rescue 50 comes with a 50-foot rope; lengths up to 100 feet also are available.
