Cordless saw cuts in tight spaces

DEWALT® has added the 9" 60V MAX Cut-Off Saw to its FLEXVOLT® System of cordless tools. Featuring a brushless motor capable of achieving 6,600 RPM, the saw has a 3 1/4-inch depth of cut that allows a user to make single-pass cuts and scores in concrete and steel. A rotatable, five-position guard reportedly enables a user to select an approach angle that provides optimal visibility when cutting in tight spaces. The saw also features a front handle that can be held in three positions for horizontal and vertical cutting, an all-metal drivetrain for durability and a dual-sided water delivery system for dust management. A latched battery box and sealed on/off switch are said to provide protection from harsh job-site conditions, and a heavy-load indicator light provides a user with power and runtime feedback during demanding applications.

Fasteners perform in extreme environments

East Coast Fasteners & Closures Inc. has introduced its Ply-Lo Extreme line of low-profile, metal-to-wood fasteners. The fasteners feature fast drilling technology for use with a battery-operated screw gun and are available in three standard sizes. Ply-Lo Extreme #10 Extended fasteners are designed for post-frame attachment and are available in lengths of 1, 1 1/2, 2, 2 1/2 or 3 inches. Ply-Lo Extreme #12 fasteners secure metal panels in place and are said to prevent panel separation in extreme environments. Ply-Lo Extreme #14 fasteners reportedly are designed for use on larger buildings and as replacements in extreme environments. Ply-Lo Extreme #12 fasteners and Ply-Lo Extreme #14 fasteners are available in lengths of 1 1/2, 2, 2 1/2 or 3 inches. All Ply-Lo Extreme fasteners reportedly meet ASTM salt-spray standards.
