Personal safety line expanded

Capital Safety has expanded its personal safety and fall-protection equipment collection to include the Nano-Lok™ edge, Lad-Saf™ X2 Detachable Cable Sleeve and DBI-SALA® EZ-Stop™ Lanyard.

The Nano-Lok edge self-retracting lifeline was engineered for foot level tie-off and specifically designed for sharp edge applications, reportedly passing the leading edge standard set by ANSI Z359.14. It retracts unused lifeline to allow workers to be anchored at their feet to move freely and features an 8-foot-long working length; ergonomic design; an integrated backpack-style energy absorber; galvanized cable lifeline; various hook options; and an easy-to-install connector. The product is available in single or twin 100 percent tie-off units and can be used in fall-clearance environments as low as 16 feet.

The Lad-Saf X2 Detachable Cable Sleeve is designed to be used as part of the Lad-Saf Flexible Cable Ladder Safety System and allows hands-free climbing, automatically following a worker during ascent or descent, and a one-handed cable attachment or detachment said to provide fast, easy and safe connections. The cable sleeve is constructed from lightweight stainless steel, features an in-line shock absorber and has two means of activating the fall-arrest function: a mechanical system that reportedly locks onto the cable almost immediately during a fall and a supplementary inertia system that activates locking independent of the mechanical system and is designed to prevent upside-down installations. The Lad-Saf X2 Detachable Cable Sleeve reportedly meets ANSI Z359.16.

The improved DBI-SALA EZ-Stop Lanyard features Hi-10™ energy-management material said to resist abrasion, moisture, chemicals and cuts; a small shock pack; light and strong rebar hooks; 3/4-inch-thick Repel™ webbing; and a rugged soft cover with protected labels. The lanyard also is equipped with i-Safe™ Technology, allowing it to be tracked in inventory and tagged with usage data, and reportedly meets all applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration and American National Standards Institute industry standards.
