Valley Forge, Pa.-based CertainTeed Corp. received the 2002 Star
of Energy Efficiency Award from the Alliance to Save Energy, a
coalition of public and private business leaders that promotes
worldwide efficient and clean energy use through research,
education, pilot projects and policy advocacy.
CertainTeed received the award for its energy-saving efforts,
including its Certified Contractor Program, a partnership with the
National Association of Home Builders that tests insulation to
ensure houses' thermal integrities, and Certified Plus Home
Program, which offers builders an approach to energy efficiency
from pre-groundbreaking to project completion, as well as other
energy programs with which the company is involved.
