Architectural Building Components has added seven ENERGY STAR®-rated colors to its panel product line. The new colors are colonial red, teal, hemlock green, seal brown, weathered Galvalume,® buckskin and granite.

SWIFT Weather has introduced its Commercial Upgrade 2.0 for Weather Defender, a weather software program that is said to be user-friendly.

Weather Defender's Commercial Upgrade 2.0 allows users to receive customized real-time hail information for specific geographic areas. Shingles resist the elements

CertainTeed Corp. has introduced its Landmark Solaris IR™ shingles, which reportedly offer protection from the sun; resist impacts, wind and algae; and decrease a roof system's temperature as much as 20 percent.

Landmark Solaris IR shingles are available in crystal gray, sunset shake, aged cedar and dusky clay and feature granules that are said to reflect solar energy better than those on traditional shingles. Landmark Solaris IR shingles feature a fiberglass scrim on their back surfaces that reportedly can withstand the impact of a 2-inch steel ball dropped from a height of 20 feet.

The Garland Co. Inc. has introduced Pyramic® Base Coat, a base coat solution that reportedly applies easily and is durable, environmentally friendly and versatile.

Pyramic Base Coat has a natural buff color that allows users to see where the base and finish coats have been applied. Springs increase vehicle stability

Firestone Building Products Co. LLC has introduced UltraWhite™ Modified Bitumen Cap Sheets, polymer-modified bitumen cap sheets made with the company's UltraWhite roofing granules. The cap sheets are said to enhance reflectivity and heat emissivity and reduce energy consumption and electricity demand.

Color mixes simplify tile installation

InSpire™ Roofing Products has introduced its InSpire Mixes, six mixes of the company's InSpire composite slate that contain up to five colors. The slate tiles are factory-mixed, shipped ready for application and reportedly speed tile installations by eliminating on-site color blending.

InSpire Mixes are available in Asheville, Greencastle, Manchester, Sedona, smoky gray and Cranbrook and are said to provide the texture and color of natural slate. InSpire roof tiles are said to be lightweight and contain up to 10 percent recycled content. Eyewear reduces strain

Caulk is versatile

EternaBond has introduced EternaCaulk, a multipurpose thermoplastic elastomer-based caulk that reportedly bonds to a wide range of wet and dry surfaces, including TPO, EPDM, Hypalon,® asphalt shingles and metal. EternaCaulk also reportedly bonds to vinyl, fiber cement, wood, concrete, tile, masonry and glass.

The caulk is said to be compatible with all EternaBond MicroSealant™ tapes and can be used to seal roof joints and tears, flashings, copings, skylights and gutters. EternaCaulk reportedly also can be used to fill holes in most roofing materials.

Coping enhances aesthetics

W.P. Hickman Co. has added Shadowline Coping to its line of engineered roof edge coping systems. The product's indented reveal coping profile shape is designed to add visual depth to a parapet edge.

Shadowline Coping is available in 0.05-inch-thick or 0.063-inch-thick aluminum or 24-gauge galvanized steel with Kynar® coating in standard or custom colors.

Shadowline Coping is a snap-on system, reportedly allowing for easy installation, concealed fasteners and full thermal cycle movement at each expansion joint.
