Gloves are waterproof

Ergodyne has added its 925F(x)OD Thermal Waterproof Dorsal Impact-Reducing Glove with OutDry,® 819OD Thermal Waterproof Gauntlet Glove with OutDry and 818OD Thermal Waterproof Utility Glove with OutDry to its ProFlex® glove line using OutDry waterproofing technology. Each glove uses a lamination process that bonds the OutDry membrane to the inside of the glove's outer shell, creating a seamless waterproof glove.

Ergodyne also has launched its ProFlex 813 Fleece Utility Glove, which offers a weather-resistant, heavyweight fleece shell construction. Nylon backing on the glove's fingers and knuckles reportedly provides durability. Abrasion-resistant, textured PVC on the palm allows for a good grip. And a gathered elastic wrist with a gauntlet cuff provides protection from the elements.

Additionally, Ergodyne has added its redesigned N-Ferno® 6970 Extreme Balaclava with Hot Rox™ to its N-Ferno Extreme Warming product line. The balaclava captures heat from each exhaled breath and brings it back to the wearer's core, which is said to ease breathing and allow workers to maintain full lung capacity.

Roof system combines solar technologies

Englert Inc. has introduced its Solar Sandwich, which combines Englert's standing-seam metal roof system with its SunNet thin film building-integrated photovoltaic (PV) laminates and Dawn Solar Thermal Energy System.

SunNet thin film PV laminates form the system's top layer and generate electricity. The laminates are made from lightweight, unbreakable, self-adhering materials and attach directly to a standing-seam roof panel.

The second layer, Englert's standing-seam metal roof, supports the SunNet laminates and Dawn Solar Thermal Energy System. The metal roof panels heat the purlins, which hold and heat a water-glycol mixture that is circulated through cross-linked polyethylene tubing cycled through conventional heat transfer and distribution systems.

The third layer, Englert's Dawn Solar Thermal Energy System, is installed under the standing-seam roof and absorbs energy into a concealed collection system and transfers it to provide energy for the building's heat and hot water. The system reportedly cools the roof, making the PV laminates more efficient. The system also can be used in cold climates to heat metal roofs to rid them of ice and snow.

Adhesive formula worksin many temperatures

OMG Roofing Products has made its OlyBond Classic adhesive available as a single-temperature formula designed to work in temperatures ranging from 35 F to more than 100 F. Applicators can control the adhesive open time by regulating a spray rig's temperature settings.

In addition, OlyBond Classic now is packaged in 110-gallon sets of 55-gallon containers rather than 100-gallon sets of 50-gallon containers. The increase reportedly reduces the number of changeovers contractors have to make on jobs by 10 percent, providing greater production and less downtime compared with adhesive packaged in 50-gallon containers.
