GAF has made its EverGuard Extreme® Advanced Protection® TPO roof membrane available in 50- and 70-mil thicknesses.

EverGuard Extreme Advanced Protection TPO reportedly resists the effects of high heat and ultraviolet rays. The 50- and 70-mil thicknesses allow contractors to offer customers EverGuard Extreme Advanced Protection TPO's performance advantages at prices competitive with standard 60- and 80-mil-thick TPO membranes.

Manual discusses ASTM standard

ASTM International has published Manual 65, Application of ASTM E2691, Standard Practice for Job Productivity Measurement, a comprehensive manual discussing users' experiences with ASTM E2691.

The manual discusses individual efficiencies of labor and other resources; general contractor vs. subcontractor models; scheduling, planning and job-site flow; on-site correction to reduce waste; and case studies. Topics discussed include system productivity, construction financial models, labor productivity, case applications, common cause variation and billing.

Solar system is lightweight

CertainTeed has introduced its Apollo® Solar Roofing System, which features high-efficiency polycrystalline photovoltaic panels designed to integrate discreetly into standard shingle roof systems.

Apollo Solar Roofing System's panels reportedly are mounted in arrays that produce 12 watts per square foot. The panels are said to be durable, resistant to wind uplift and lightweight with no need for a rack mount or structural reinforcement. They also reportedly have a snow-load capacity of 250 pounds per square foot and can be retrofitted for an existing roof system or installed with a Certain-Teed shingle roof system.

Solution preserves equipment during storage

OMG Roofing Products has made available OMG PCPreserver, a nonhazardous, long-term storage product for use with OMG Roofing Products' PaceCart 2.

OMG PCPreserver can be used to flush OlyBond 500 adhesive residue from the PaceCart 2 before it is placed in storage, and it can keep PaceCart 2's pumps, hoses and gun assembly sufficiently lubricated during extended storage periods.

OMG PCPreserver can be used on PaceCart 2's Part 1 and Part 2 sides. It is available in a 1-gallon bag-in-box container, which features a snap-in-place nozzle for easy connection to PaceCart 2. It reportedly is a safe, environmentally friendly, nonhazardous option for preparing PaceCart 2's equipment for storage.

Welder is compact

Leister Technologies AG has introduced its UNIROOF E 40 mm, an automatic welder that provides about 2,900 watts of power with a 13-amp current and features a 1.6-inch overlap nozzle. The welder's compact design reportedly makes it ideal for roof systems less than 5,382 square feet and areas not easily accessible with other welders. The nozzle combined with additional weight over the contact roller is said to produce high-quality, uniform welds across TPO, PVC, EPDM and CSPE roof membranes.

UNIROOF E 40 mm features a controlled temperature and drive output that automatically compensates for voltage fluctuations. It also features an ergonomic guide bar; high-quality, rust-proof materials; and power reserves.

Eyewear available in multipacks

Gateway Safety Inc. has made its StarLite® MAG bifocal eyewear available in 10-unit multipacks. Each multipack contains two of each diopter: 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0 only in the clear lens.

Additionally, Gateway Safety has added a clear in-and-out mirror lens option to its StarLite MAG line. The lenses reportedly help reduce the effects of intense, bright light and glare as workers transition from indoor to outdoor tasks. The lenses are available in 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5 diopter levels.

StarLite MAG bifocal eyewear is said to provide comfort and impact protection. In addition to the clear in-and-out mirror lens options, the eyewear also is available in clear, clear anti-fog and gray lenses.
