Product quickly sets up barrier

BlueWater Manufacturing has released its new Kwik-Stand System, a self-contained spindle-mount system that quickly forms a cross tee. A person reportedly can set up a 100-foot warning perimeter within minutes.

The system, which weighs 34 pounds, folds into a 39- by 2- by 3 1/2-inch size, making it easier to transport and store. A carrying handle also gives the product easy portability.

Technical manual is released

Firestone Building Products Co.'s updated technical manual has been made available, providing detailed information about the company's single-ply and asphalt-based roof systems. Including information such as design criteria, warranty guidelines and code approvals, the Firestone Specification Manual is available in a print binder, as an interactive CD-ROM or online at www.firestonebpco.com.

Curb allows seam alignment

ThyCurb has released Retro-Curb, an insulated curb with a base flange that can be cut out to align with roof seams. The watertight curb is designed to comply with any roof slope and have unrestricted positioning on standing-seam metal roof systems. The product also features T-bar reinforcing for sizes greater than 36 inches, as well as 1 1/2-inch- and 3-pound-density fiberglass insulation.

Angle cutter is versatile

Makita U.S.A. Inc. has made available the 4112H, its new 12-inch Angle Cutter featuring a removable tool base for versatility, built-in vacuum attachment and rubberized wrap-around handle. The cutter, which features a 15-ampere motor operating at 5,000 rotations per minute, has front- and rear-cutting guides and guiding wheels for accuracy.

Rotary hammer offers speed

Bosch Power Tools has released the 11250VSR, an SDS-plus® Rotary Hammer that offers a high-impact energy transfer rate, faster drilling, dust protection and tool-free bit changes. The unit also features an integral clutch, ergonomic pistol-grip handle, and 6-ampere Bosch motor that operates at 1,350 rotations per minute (rpm) in rotation-only mode and up to 6,000 rpm in rotary-hammer mode.

Rope system is versatile

Perhacs Design has released the Rope Cincher, a tie-down and bundling system used to transport and secure tools and materials. Designed to be used with a braided rope from 3/16 of an inch to 1/2 of an inch long and no metal components, the Rope Cincher reportedly is the only tie-down product that can join two loose rope ends or be placed anywhere on a tied single line. A V-locking wedge holds the rope, and the Rope Cincher rotates to lock the rope in place.

System prevents algae growth

The Scotchguard™ Algae Resistant Roofing System from 3M has been introduced. The system includes 3M premium copper granules as algae inhibitors and 3M standard colored granules that resist weather and ultraviolet light. It is said the shingles will provide long-term protection lasting for up to 20 years or for a roof system's lifetime.

Products promote ladder safety

Söll Americas has made available the PivotLoc Foldable Ladder System to make working on or off a ladder a safe process. The 4 1/2-inch-wide unit locks while it is open to prevent accidental closure and folds and locks into a compact unit when closed.

Also available are the Söll GlideLoc® Safe-Climbing Ladder Systems, which are said to provide vertical and horizontal access without having to disconnect or reconnect to a safety rail. Workers can lean backward and forward, and a fall arrestor keeps a worker's harness connected to the guide rail.

Guide features two languages

Polyglass® has released its ADESO™ DUAL COMPOUND SelfADHESIVE MEMBRANES Installation Guide in Spanish and English. The 40-page, pocket-size guide features information about the membranes' technology, applications, tools and accessories, as well as technical data, specifications, drawings and photos.

CD-ROM features thermal papers

Snell Infrared has released a CD-ROM featuring papers from its international Thermosense conferences. The thermal papers, which date back to 1980, are categorized according to predictive maintenance/thermal nondestructive testing and materials evaluation. The papers are formatted in Adobe Acrobat, which is included on the CD-ROM.

Harness is more comfortable

Bacou-Dalloz™ has released a line of Titan-by-Miller T-Flex™ Harnesses, which are said to offer more comfort and mobility. The harnesses feature fully adjustable webbing with a subpelvic strap and back strap, as well as an adjustable chest strap that adapts to fit a user.

Software allows digital photographs

AppliCad has implemented a new command in all its roofing software that allows users to download images from their digital cameras to be inserted over computer-aided drawings. Any digital photograph format can be used. The software reportedly will ensure quotes for materials and labor are accurate. In addition, users can close windows without losing digital images.

Adhesive sticks to all surfaces

Bostik Findley Inc. has made available Bostik® Chem-Calk® Heavy Duty Construction Adhesive, a moisture-curing polyurethane adhesive with high-solids properties; a low-odor factor; and the ability to stick to any surface, wet or dry. The adhesive is said to set quickly and can be used in temperatures as low as 10 F.

Shovel offers stability

UnionTools has introduced the Razor-Back® Professional Fiberglass Handle Shovel that features a 14-inch steel tube inserted to connect the handle to the head for stability. With a raised backbone head and steel head-to-handle connection, the shovel also has a fiberglass handle said to provide more strength. The handle has a nonslip cushion grip for comfort.

In addition, the company has introduced the Razor-Back® roof rippers featuring a standard ripper model and a Lo-Shock ripper model. The standard is for low-slope roof systems and includes an enlarged metal "D" for better gripping. The Lo-Shock has a mechanism in the"D" that absorbs shock and reduces sometimes painful impact, as well as a fore grip designed for better control and comfort. Both rippers have wheels for faster and easier mobility.
