Ridge vent adheres directly to roof

Mongoose™ Products Inc. has introduced its Mongoose Ridge Vent, an attic ventilation system for shingle roofs that features built-in end caps and adheres directly to a roof without nails. It features an 8-mm PVC cover that is said to protect against leaks if ridge cap shingles are damaged or blown off.

The Mongoose Ridge Vent offers 10.41 square inches of net free ventilation area per lineal foot.

Ladder stabilizer is lightweight

LadLock has introduced its LadLock extension ladder stabilization system that offers more than 60 square inches of contact surface and is said to protect gutters. The product may be anchored directly to a roof line with screws.

The LadLock extension ladder stabilization system is designed for use with aluminum, fiberglass and wood ladders. It is made of aircraft-grade aluminum and weighs less than 6 pounds.

Product offers two tools in one

Everhard Products Inc. has introduced its MM21080 seam tester, which features two tools in one—MM21060, which is a 10 1/4-inch-long convertible seam tester, and MR02400, which is a 60-inch-long fiberglass handle that allows users to stand while using the seam tester.

The seam tester features a 5-inch plated steel seam tester shaft and 5 3/4-inch plastic handle that is said to be easy to grip.

Heat gun offers three speeds

Metabo Corp. has introduced its HE 2000 heat gun, which offers three speeds and air temperatures from 120 F to 1,100 F. It also features a 15-amp motor with a double fan and air filter that is said to be easy to clean and extend the tool's life.

The HE 2000 produces air flow rates of 8.8 cubic feet per minute, 9.5 cubic feet per minute and 17.7 cubic feet per minute. It is 11 1/4 inches long and weighs 2 pounds.

Manual is updated

The Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA) has made available its revised and updated ARMA Residential Asphalt Roofing Manual. The manual, which first was released in 1997, features four additional chapters that include various infor­mation about residential roof systems, such as laminated shingles, graphs and charts.

Additionally, the manual's new format is said to provide easier reading and use.
