The Center for Courageous Kids, a medical camping facility in Scottsville, Ky., provides camping experiences for seriously ill and disabled children who are unable to attend traditional camps. The $16.3 million facility's 168-acre campus opened in February 2008 and includes a medical center, equestrian center, bowling alley, indoor swimming complex, gymnasium and climbing wall, dining hall, theater and lodging halls.

Gunter Construction Roofing, Scottsville, and Geoghegan Roofing & Supply Inc., Bowling Green, Ky., installed more than 50,000 square feet of Petersen Aluminum 24-gauge Award Blue SNAP-CLAD™ Panels on multiple buildings. The companies also installed trim, gutters and downspouts.

Kelly Geoghegan, president of Geoghegan Roofing & Supply, says the facility was unique for various reasons.

"It is unique because of the overall size, but performing the work in such a rural location also was different," he says.

Geoghegan was happy to perform work for such a worthy cause.

"Three things were the most rewarding parts of this project: being a member of a team that constructed a world-class medical facility, compliments received on a job well done and experiencing no accidents."
