Jobs were added in 41 states in October

Companies added jobs in 41 states in October, which is the most in five months, according to msnbc.com.

Additionally, the unemployment rate fell in 19 states in October, rose in 14 states and was unchanged in 17 states. In September, only 16 states reported gains and 34 reported drops.

Although the job creation wasn't enough to significantly reduce unemployment rates, the states that were hit worst by the recession all demonstrated signs of improvement in October.
