Ridge vents reduce moisture

Berger Building Products Inc. has introduced its Pro-Master Highpoint Series 5 and Series 7 ridge vents, which enable air to exit an attic and reduce heat and moisture buildup. The ridge vents are said to withstand temperature variations and structural loads and reduce energy costs.

Additionally, Berger Building Products has introduced its Pro-Master Standard Box Vents,™ which are said to fit any steep-slope roof and reduce heat and moisture buildup. Pro-Master Standard Box Vents are made from polypropylene and have three prepunched nail holes per side for installation. The vents are available in brown, gray, weatherwood and black.

Gloves offer protection

Ansell Ltd. has introduced its Vantage® series gloves, which are said to be lightweight and comfortable and protect hands from cuts and abrasions. The Vantage series includes four styles: Vantage 75-781, 70-761, 70-765 and 70-860.

Vantage 75-781 gloves protect hands from heat and are made from heavyweight terrycloth with Kevlar® fiber. Vantage 70-761 gloves are medium-weight with Kevlar fiber and said to provide dexterity. Vantage 70-765 medium-weight gloves feature leather pads double-stitched with Kevlar fiber. Vantage 70-860 gloves contain Dyneema® fiber for abrasion resistance and are said to be comfortable for long-term wear.

Shingle stripper is efficient

ADoozie Inc. has introduced its Lil Doozie Shingle Stripper, which is said to remove shingles and nails from low- and steep-slope roof systems.

The Lil Doozie Shingle Stripper weighs 28 pounds and features a removable ball-bearing oil transmission. The shingle stripper is made from 12-gauge steel.

Roof system is energy-efficient

The Garland Co. Inc. has introduced its R-Mer Lite™ II insulated steel roof system, which is said to provide a watertight seal and have a low life-cycle cost. The roof system has a high-gloss white finish that reportedly lowers roof surface temperature and enhances energy efficiency.

R-Mer Lite II features an aluminum-seam bar and free-floating and self-venting flashing design. The roof system's steel composition weighs 3/4 of a pound per square foot installed and is said to install easily.

Caulk tube is self-tooling

Research Plastic Inc. has introduced its self-tooling caulking tube. The tube features a triangular nozzle, which is said to produce a fine, flat caulk bead.

Additionally, the caulking tube is "self-burping," which reportedly allows caulk to be extruded in one continuous bead. The tube can be used with acrylic latex and other latex caulks.

Roof tiles are resistant

EcoStar™ has introduced its Seneca Plus™ roof tiles, which are polymeric rubber-based and said to look like hand-split cedar shake.

Corners facilitate installation

Gloves provide warmth

Gerbing's Heated Clothing has introduced its Core Heat Transfer System™ battery-operated heated gloves, which are said to provide consistent heat and full range of motion. The gloves are said to heat the full length of each finger and the backs of hands.

Each glove is powered by a 7.4-volt lithium battery pack housed in a zipper pocket on the cuff of the glove. A four-level push-button thermostat allows users to regulate temperature. The gloves are said to heat up to 135 F on their highest setting. The lowest setting reportedly will keep gloves heated to 85 F for up to 12 hours.

Screwdriver is lightweight

Milwaukee Electric Tool Corp. has introduced its 0490-22 4-volt lithium-ion-powered screwdriver, which is said to be fast and lightweight.

The 0490-22 features a two-position handle, two-speed gearbox and 3-ampere-per-hour lithium-ion battery. The screwdriver weighs 1.1 pounds and has a built-in battery gauge that displays remaining battery life.

Coating improves reflectivity

Chemline Inc. has introduced CHEMĀ­THANE 6100, a solvent-free, spray-applied hybrid polyurea coating that is said to improve a roof system's solar reflectivity.

CHEMTHANE 6100 has a 1,500-pounds-per-square-inch tensile strength and is said to resist mold and fungus. The coating can be used as a top coat for spray polyurethane foam, concrete, built-up, single-ply and steel roof systems.

Pipe supports are durable

JMB Industries has introduced its Pipe Prop Adjustable Drainage System, a pipe-support system that is said to be durable and install easily. The system reportedly accepts copper and PVC pipe.
