Wayne, N.J.-based GAF Materials Corp. acquired Meridian,
Miss.-based Atlas Roofing Corp.'s Quakertown, Pa., manufacturing
facility on May 7.
"This acquisition will enable us to keep pace with the growing
demand for our product in North American markets," says William
Collins, GAF's president and chief executive officer. "The
Quakertown facility provides GAF with immediate capacity of roughly
2 million squares (18 million m²) of shingles per year and the
potential for additional capacity expansion, as well as saturated
