Petersen Aluminum to open Phoenix facility

Petersen Aluminum Corp., Elk Grove Village, Ill., has announced plans to open a new manufacturing facility in Phoenix in early 2018.

The 52,000-square-foot facility is scheduled to open during the first quarter of 2018 and will produce PAC-CLAD steel and aluminum cladding products, including standing-seam roof panels, for distribution in the Western states. The Phoenix facility will be Petersen Aluminum's sixth location, joining the company's facilities in Acworth, Ga.; Elk Grove Village, Ill.; Annapolis Junction, Md.; Andover, Minn.; and Tyler, Texas.

TAMKO® Building Products donates to hurricane relief

TAMKO Building Products Inc., Joplin, Mo., donated $200,000 to the American Red Cross to assist with relief efforts in Houston and Puerto Rico following Hurricanes Harvey and Maria. TAMKO Building Products presented $100,000 at the American Red Cross office in Joplin Sept. 6 to support Hurricane Harvey relief efforts and donated an additional $100,000 to assist Hurricane Maria relief efforts Oct. 4.

American Red Cross disaster workers provided food, water, shelter and comfort to victims during the days after the hurricanes struck and will continue to support families during the ongoing rebuilding process. TAMKO Building Products donates annually to the American Red Cross and previously has provided monetary gifts to support tornado disaster recovery efforts, including the Joplin area after a deadly EF5 tornado struck the town in 2011.

PetersenDean Roofing and Solar partners with Mission Solar Energy

PetersenDean Roofing and Solar, Fremont, Calif., has partnered with Mission Solar Energy, San Antonio, to offer affordable solar options to homeowners.

Mission Solar Energy will provide between 2 and 4 megawatts of high-power, 60-cell MSE PERC 60 solar modules to PetersenDean Roofing and Solar each month for installation on residences throughout the U.S. The partnership helps PetersenDean Roofing and Solar supply customers with intelligently managed energy storage while using roofing materials manufactured in the U.S.

ABC Supply opens California branches

ABC Supply Co. Inc., Beloit, Wis., opened new branches in Chico, Calif.; Hayward, Calif.; and Orange, Calif.

The new locations will provide local contractors more convenient access to the building products they need. ABC Supply now has 35 branches in California.

ICC fundraises for hurricane relief

The International Code Council (ICC) raised more than $110,000 to benefit the American Red Cross in the aftermath of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

In August, ICC undertook a three-week fundraising effort to help hurricane victims and pledged to match member, staff and stakeholder donations up to $64,000. Following an outpouring of donations, the fundraising goal was reached, and ICC contributed an additional $64,000 to the final donation made to the American Red Cross. ICC also established the Hurricane Harvey Code Heroes Housing Network to locate available rooms in areas affected by Hurricane Harvey to temporarily house disaster recovery volunteers.

Trent Cotney, P.A., offers help line

NRCA member Trent Cotney, P.A., a Tampa, Fla.-based construction law firm, is offering a free legal help line to help contractors in hurricane-affected areas with legal questions and needs. Licensed contractors can call (866) 303-5868 for legal advice regarding hurricane restoration efforts, including how to handle warranties and claims. Trent Cotney, P.A., has more than 15 lawyers who specialize in construction law, safety, employment, immigration and building code expertise.

In addition, Trent Cotney, P.A., made donations to the Houston Humane Society and the Humane Society of Tampa Bay to support the organizations' efforts to rescue and care for animals displaced by the hurricanes.
