GAF receives 22 design awards

GAF, Wayne, N.J., has received 13 American Graphic Design Awards and nine American InHouse Design Awards for its sales support materials. The competitions are sponsored by Graphic Design USA magazine and recognize outstanding creative work. More than 12,000 entries were submitted, and the top 15 percent in each category were recognized. GAF received awards in several categories, including web, print ads, video, TV commercials, brochures, sales promotions, digital displays and direct mail.

GAF also was honored during the Greenbuild® International Conference and Expo Oct. 22-24 in New Orleans as a Category Leader in Roofing by Mount Pleasant, S.C.-based GreenWizard Inc., a software provider for the design and construction community. The selection recognized GAF as a company that has made the most significant progress with supporting the needs and requirements of the building industry and building owners/occupants with respect to product transparency and sustainability initiatives.

Additionally, GAF has signed on as a founding sponsor of Hanley Wood LLC's Greenbuild University, an online learning platform designed to train sustainable design professionals with LEED®-focused content. More than 150,000 designers with the LEED professional credential are required to maintain their statuses by earning continuing education units (CEUs). Greenbuild University will provide these professionals with free CEU learning options.

Also, GAF has begun producing GAF Cornell ThermaCal® Nail Base Roof Insulation Panels at the company's manufacturing facility in Statesboro, Ga. In December 2013, GAF purchased the operating assets of Cornell Corp., Cornell, Wis., launching GAF into the ventilated nail base market. The resulting GAF Cornell brand combines the two companies' products.
