The Music Room at Henry B. Plant Hall at the University of Tampa, Fla., was built in 1891 and features a unique oblong disc shape with a distinct curve before rising into a dome. Designated a National Historic Landmark building in 1972, the hall’s roof recently was retrofitted to preserve the structure’s original architecture.
ATAS International’s Field-Lok™ 24-gauge stainless-steel panels with a 1 1/2-inch seam height were installed and mechanically seamed in the field by Quality Roofing Inc., Tampa. At 4,500 square feet, the Music Room’s roof features layers of tapered panels of various sizes and complex circumferences to accommodate the structure’s eaves and domes.
The project was awarded first place in ATAS International’s 2025 Project of the Year Awards in the Commercial Roof category, and Quality Roofing received a Spotlight Trophy for Advancement in Roofing by the Florida Roofing and Sheet Metal Contractors Association.
