What is your position within your company?
I am president of RoofConnect,® Sheridan, Ark.

What is the most unusual roofing project you've performed?
I worked on a retail location near Lake Erie with a strict completion deadline. It snowed almost every day during the project.

Why did you become a part of the roofing industry?
After I graduated college in the 1990s, I was looking for a job, and a friend asked me to help him at his roofing manufacturer's representative firm. I agreed to help him while continuing to search for a corporate job. I ended up staying in the roofing industry. I was not aware until joining the roofing industry of the opportunities available for people who want to build a career.

What was your first roofing experience?
My first roofing experience was going to a manufacturer's sales presentation and listening to an overview of different types of roofing products. Every time I heard a presentation, I believed the particular product discussed was the best roofing product available. I learned all the sales and performance benefits of EPDM, built-up roofing, polymer-modified bitumen and TPO during my first few days in the industry.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a professional football player.
