NRCA Resources

NRCA offers marketing resources

NRCA offers the following marketing resources to help roofing contractors promote their services, warranties and NRCA membership.

Marketing Strategies for Roofing Contractors is based on surveys of commercial and residential contractors and will guide you through a step-by-step process to develop a comprehensive marketing plan for your company, including steps to evaluate your current business, conduct research and develop an effective marketing strategy.

Profitable Sales: A Contractors Guide offers practical advice about how to be an effective salesperson. Topics include taking a lead over the telephone; sales calls; training and motivating sales staff; addressing customer concerns; and four basic questions you must answer to make a sale.

F.Y.I. highlights roofing material options and costs, how to choose a roofing contractor and how to maintain a roof system. It also is useful for educating residential customers about basic roofing terminology.

Insist on a Professional Roofing Contractor explains why potential commercial roofing customers should insist on professional roofing contractors. The pamphlet outlines steps customers should take to ensure they are dealing with reputable and professional roofing contractors on every job.

The Alliance receives funding

Firestone Building Products Co. LLC, Indianapolis, has donated $250,000 to The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress' Melvin Kruger Endowed Scholarship Program, a new permanent program that will replace the Alliance's current scholarship program beginning with the 2009-10 academic year. The program will provide significant scholarships to employees of NRCA member companies (contractors and suppliers) and immediate family members of employees of NRCA member companies.

Additionally, Roofing Supply Group LLC, Dallas, has joined the Alliance at the Regent level. The company's commitments entitle it to attend the Alliance's semiannual meetings and participate in the project task forces established to guide the Alliance's agenda.

The Alliance was established in 1996 within the National Roofing Foundation, a separate but related educational and research organization of NRCA, to address critical roofing industry issues. The organization is open to all roofing contractor and industry partners. Alliance members are committed to securing the future excellence of the roofing industry. SpecRight Program training sessions are scheduled for July 8 in Chicago and Oct. 21 in Washington, D.C. The program also is available as a customized educational training class.
