Device flags membrane breaches

Jandrex LLC has introduced Mini Breach X, a device designed to help inspectors flag and temporarily seal breaches in low-slope roof membranes.

Mini Breach X is composed of a high-performance acrylic-based adhesive tape said to temporarily seal a breach when applied to a clean, dry surface. The device also has a vertically attached flag to easily identify breaches. Mini Breach X is available in packs of 24 devices.

Mobile pendant can summon help

SecuraTrac® has released the Mobile-Defender™ Model S, the most recent model of its mobile emergency pendant.

The MobileDefender Model S uses cloud-based location technology to track employees' locations, and, if necessary, provide emergency assistance to workers in the field. Worn with a neck lanyard or on a bracelet, the MobileDefender Model S reportedly features built-in Fall Advisory capability that can detect horizontal and vertical movement and trigger a call to emergency responders if a user falls. The MobileDefender Model S has a new Wake-on SOS feature to improve battery lifespan. Because the device is off until the SOS button is activated, the device is said to last for more than 30 days per charge.

Gloves offer impact protection

Ergodyne has added its 924 Hybrid Dorsal Impact-Reducing (DIR) Gloves, 925F(x) Standard DIR Gloves, 925CR Performance DIR Gloves + Cut Resistance and 925WP Performance DIR Gloves + Thermal Waterproofing to its line of ProFlex® DIR Series Gloves.

Each glove reportedly features molded rubber armor and segmented foam protection to minimize pinching, impacts and crushing blows without limiting a user's dexterity. The gloves also have reinforced thumb and index finger wear areas and high-resolution color schemes to increase signaling and hand-safety awareness. The 925CR Performance DIR Gloves + Cut Resistance also feature Armortex®-backed palms for enhanced cut and puncture protection. Adhesive sets in low temperatures

SOPREMA® Inc. has introduced DUOTACK® 365, a low-rise, two-part polyurethane adhesive for adhering insulation boards, cover boards and thermal barriers.

DUOTACK 365 is said to outperform standard DUOTACK with its improved ability to set in temperatures as low as 14 F. DUOTACK 365 reportedly cures in minutes, contains no volatile organic compounds, and complies with FM Approvals and Underwriters Laboratories regulations. The gray adhesive is available in two-part cartridges, 10-gallon container sets and 50-gallon drums.

Underlayment features nonwoven surface

TAMKO® Building Products Inc. has introduced its Synthetic Guard Plus™ underlayment, a nonwoven synthetic underlayment with a light gray polypropylene surface.

Made of plastic fibers spun-bonded to create a nonwoven mat, the underlayment is printed with lay lines and cap nail locations for easy installation. Synthetic Guard Plus underlayment reportedly can be applied under mechanically fastened tile, wood shakes, asphalt shingles, slate, metal and composite shingles. The underlayment can be printed with a contractor's company logo and phone number for an additional charge.

New steel roof colors available

EDCO Products Inc. has added five colors to its line of Infiniti textured-steel roofing: Granite Gray, Chestnut Brown, Aged Bronze Enhanced, Granite Gray Enhanced and Chestnut Brown Enhanced.

The Infiniti roofing line imitates the look of wood shake and reportedly features multitone layering, a permanent thermal-fused texture and Whisper Quiet™ technology achieved with a sound-deadening coating to decrease external sound. Headset blocks hazardous noises

3M™ has introduced its 3M PELTOR™ ProTac III Headset designed to protect workers from hazardous noises while minimizing overprotection to help ensure users can hear warning signals and alarms.

The headset reportedly features a lightweight, stainless-steel wire headband; a dual-shell design to protect the electronics from moisture; replaceable cushions and foam liners; and noise-attenuating ear cups to protect hearing in environments with hazardous noise. The headset also features user-friendly controls with no dials and can connect with smartphones, radios, shoulder microphones and other external devices to provide listening abilities.

Shingles contain recycled polymers

Malarkey Roofing Products has introduced Vista™ Nexgen™ polymer-modified laminated architectural shingles.

The shingles are said to be fortified with Nexgen polymer-modified asphalt technology, which uses a blend of Flexor™ asphalt with reclaimed post-consumer recycled polymers to enhance granule adhesion and increase asphalt flexibility and weather protection. Vista Nexgen shingles reportedly have an Underwriters Laboratories Class 3 impact-resistance rating and increased resistance to algae staining. Impact wrench is cordless

PORTER CABLE® has introduced its first cordless wrench, the 20V MAX Lithium Ion 1/2-inch Hog Ring Impact Wrench.

The wrench reportedly features a 1/2-inch hog ring anvil that provides 330 foot-pounds of maximum torque for construction applications and lug nut removal. The hog ring anvil also allows for easy socket changes for a variety of applications. The wrench's variable speed trigger allows users to control the speed of the wrench, which is said to deliver up to 1,700 rotations per minute and 2,500 impacts per minute. The wrench is 9.9 inches in length and weighs 6 pounds when combined with its 4.0Ah 20V MAX lithium ion battery pack and is designed with an over-molded grip for user comfort. Tape has asymmetrical release liner

DuPont® Protection Services has added 12-inch-wide DuPont™ Flashing Tape to its line of DuPont Flashing Systems products.
