Software helps reduce waste

AppliCad USA Inc. has announced Block-Cut panel optimization tools will be embedded in its new version of Roof Wizard software.

The software tools automatically generate required installer reports to user-defined templates with a company's details. The software helps determine where panels, sheets and offcuts can go as part of a “block” of panels, reducing waste material at the quotation stage. A multicolored panel placement drawing then is sent to the job with the material, reducing time spent at a site determining placement. The software tools reportedly reduce job waste allowance from the average 10 to 12 percent to 2 to 5 percent.
