Knowify has launched its software management tool designed to help contractors operate their businesses through mobile devices.

Optimized for use on a tablet, the cloud-based software reportedly can be used for creating contract estimations, issuing purchase orders, invoicing and job scheduling, among other tasks.

Drill screws available in new sizes

Triangle Fastener Corp. has added 1 1/4- and 2-inch drill screws to its line of BLAZER® Stainless Cap Head Drill Screws.

The drill screws reportedly feature stainless-steel cap heads and EPDM washers to ensure performance in harsh environments and can be used to tap up to 1/2-inch-thick steel. Each screw is said to have a TRI-SEAL® 1,000-hour salt-spray coating to improve lubricity during tapping and increase corrosion resistance.

Grinders fit in tight spaces

DEWALT® has introduced three 4 1/2-inch small-angle grinders: a DWE4222N model, a DWE4222 model and a DWE4224 model. The small-angle grinders are said to be useful for grinding and beveling steel, grinding welds, cutting pipe and preparing concrete surfaces in tight spaces.

The grinders feature improved brake systems to stop the wheels faster, Lanyard Ready™ Connections to enable users to tether the grinders at job sites and new motor designs built with 40 percent more copper to increase power capability. Each grinder model also has an E-CLUTCH™ that activates in less than 1/10 of a second when a wheel pinch or stall event is detected and a Dust Ejection System™ designed to filter debris from the air that is pulled across the motor to cool it.

With a weight of 4.6 pounds, circumference of 194 millimeters and a One-Touch™ guard allowing users to adjust the guard in a single motion, each grinder reportedly is comfortable to use.

Heated storage units protect supplies

KNAACK® has introduced its THERMOSTEEL™ heated storage unit designed to protect tools and materials stored at job sites during cold weather. When temperatures drop below 40 F, the unit can be plugged into a power source to maintain a warm space for supplies.

The storage unit reportedly features a Watchman IV independent locking system to protect against theft and harsh job-site conditions, a TOOL KAGE™ door and thermal blanket to preserve an optimal temperature and a raised chest floor to provide users with easy access to items stored at the unit's bottom. Membranes seal out air and water

SOPREMA Inc. has developed two spray-applied liquid membranes, SOPRASEAL® LM 202 VP (vapor permeable) and LM 203. The membranes are available in permeable and nonpermeable options.

SOPRASEAL LM membranes reportedly ensure a continuous air barrier and effective water resistance as a result of seamless installation. The membranes can be installed in temperatures as low as 25 F and are said to be easily cleaned with water.

Color blends are CRRC-approved

DaVinci Roofscapes® has added four color blends to its DaVinci EcoBlend® line of color blends for polymer shake and slate tile roofs: Tahoe-EcoBlend, Autumn-EcoBlend, Brownstone-EcoBlend and Slate Gray-EcoBlend.

DaVinci EcoBlends reportedly have received approval by the Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC) and meet Title 24 requirements in California.

Drains handle increased water flow

Mule-Hide® Products Co. has introduced several roof drains for new construction and retrofit applications.

Available in multiple sizes, the roof drains feature elevated strainer ring risers for increased water flow through the drain and clamping rings with ribbed undersides to ensure the drain ring is tightly secured to the roof membrane.

The roof drains for new construction projects have epoxy-coated aluminum clamping rings 1 1/4 inches high with 12 scallops and seep holes for maximum drainage and aluminum underdeck clamps to fasten the drain to the roof deck.

The roof drains for retrofit applications are offered with aluminum and copper outlets and feature a large stud diameter to increase hardware strength.

Application system applies two-part adhesives

OMG Roofing Products has introduced PaceCart 3,™ the most recent version of an application system designed to apply OlyBond500 adhesives.

PaceCart 3 reportedly features a new manifold for the application of two-part low-rise adhesives, two low-maintenance pumps for use with high-viscosity liquids, a color-coded adhesive tray to help prevent cross-contamination between adhesive components and an electrical system with a voltage meter to help identify power input. A shelf has been added to the cart to hold a portable generator, enabling cordless mobility and eliminating a potential tripping hazard.

Roof panels compatible with 1/2:12 slopes

Green Span Profiles has introduced RidgeLine, a mechanically seamed roof panel, to its line of insulated roof panels.

The 2 3/8-inch-tall RidgeLine panels feature a polyisocyanurate insulating foam core, cover 42 inches and are available in thicknesses of 2 1/2, 3, 4 or 5 inches. The panels can be used on slopes as low as 1/2:12 and are available in standard lengths from 12 to 53 feet with an option for custom lengths. A weathertight seal with no interruption at the clips reportedly is formed when the panels are fitted together. The panels are said to have factory-applied sealant in the batten cap and proprietary shoulder fasteners to prevent over-driving.
