Membrane roof system has tinted resin
Kemper System America Inc. has introduced its Kemperol® 2K-FR cold liquid-applied membrane roof and
waterproofing system with "thru color." Designed to protect low-slope roof systems, Kemperol 2K-FR is derived from
Kemper System America's Kemperol Reflect 2K-FR system. Kemperol 2K-FR is said to eliminate the need for a color
topcoat because the polyurethane resin is tinted throughout, reducing installation time. Intended for use on new or
existing low-slope roof systems, the Class A fire-rated, odor-free, fully reinforced system is available in Stone
Gray or Patina Green.
Harness helps reduce suspension trauma
Werner Ladder has made available its ProForm™ F3 harness. Constructed from lightweight materials for
maximum comfort, the harness features relief cords a user can pull after a fall to deploy a built-in seat and achieve
a sitting position, which is said to reduce suspension trauma. A user also can reposition the harness's dual back pad
system after a fall to reduce pressure on his or her clavicles. The ProForm F3 harness reportedly is
weather-resistant and features gear loops for the connection of tool lanyards, quick-connect buckles with indicators
and roll-down torso web keepers to store excess webbing.
Laminated shingles are impact-resistant
TAMKO® Building Products Inc. has added Heritage® IR shingles to its Heritage line of laminated
asphalt shingles. Heritage IR shingles reportedly comply with UL 2218 Class 4 impact resistance to help protect
houses from storm damage. Designed to imitate the look of wood shakes, the shingles are available in Rustic Black,
Rustic Slate, Thunderstorm Grey and Weathered Wood.
Work light emits 5,000 lumens
DEWALT® has made available its 20V MAX Tool Connect™ All-Purpose Light, an LED light that emits
5,000 lumens of natural white light. When powered by a 20V MAX 6.0Ah lithium ion battery, the light reportedly runs
for up to 11 hours on its lowest setting. The light has three variable brightness settings, and a user can adjust the
settings via Bluetooth® through the free TOOL CONNECT app. Weighing only 8.6 pounds, the 20V MAX Tool Connect
All-Purpose Light also features an impact-resistant lens and durable "roll cage" design. The light is said to be
dust- and water-resistant and can be hung up, tripod-mounted or used freestanding.
Cover strip installs without welding
Carlisle SynTec Systems has introduced its Sure-Flex PVC Pressure-Sensitive Cover Strip designed to strip-in
flat metal edgings. The cover strip is constructed from a 35-mil nonreinforced ketone ethylene ester flashing
laminated to a 35-mil fully cured, pressure-sensitive, synthetic rubber adhesive. Sure-Flex PVC Pressure-Sensitive
Cover Strip reportedly is compatible with a variety of metal finishes and installs easily without welding. The cover
strip is available in white, gray and tan in rolls measuring 6 inches wide and 100 feet long.
Granule-enhanced cap sheets are reflective
SOPREMA® Inc. and 3M® have introduced SOPRALENE® SG and ELASTOPHENE® SG
polymer-modified bitumen cap sheets enhanced with 3M Highly Reflective Granules. Designed to increase a roof system's
reflectivity, the lightweight cap sheets are bright white and reportedly have an initial solar reflectance index of
80 and an aged solar reflectance index of 75. SOPRALENE SG and ELASTOPHENE SG cap sheets also feature robust opacity
to protect a roof system's asphaltic layer, extending the life of the roof system, and require minimal
Tiles imitate cedar shake
DaVinci Roofscapes® has added DaVinci Select Shake roof tiles to its line of shake products. Designed to
imitate the look of traditional cedar shakes, the roof tiles are available in 8- and 10-inch widths and are 22 inches
long and 5/8 of an inch thick. The 10-inch-wide roof tiles reportedly have a simulated keyway to give the appearance
of 4- and 6-inch-wide shakes placed together. DaVinci Select Shake roof tiles are available in Aged Cedar, Autumn,
Black Oak, Chesapeake, Mossy Cedar, Mountain, Tahoe and Weathered Gray.
Skylight installs on low-slope roof systems
VELUX® has made available CurveTech Skylights designed for low-slope roof systems. The skylight features a
curved edge-to-edge glass cover said to allow water to disperse off the glass even if installed on a roof system with
no slope. The skylight's base is an insulated PVC curb that can be topped with a CurveTech cover or polycarbonate
dome. A protective cover reportedly helps keep the double-glazed skylight's inner pane warm. CurveTech Skylights can
be installed on roof systems with slopes from 0:12 to 3:12.
