Shingle line adds colors

GAF-Elk has added two new colors to its Camelot® Lifetime Designer Shingles: riverstone grey and sunset slate.

Camelot® Lifetime Designer Shingles also are available in antique slate, aged oak, Florida blend, Essex green, Welsh gray, terra cotta, San Gabriel, Sheffield black and Williamsburg slate. The shingles feature StainGuard® algae protection, which reportedly helps protect against blue-green algae stains.

In addition, GAF Materials has introduced its Camelot 30 Designer Shingles, which are modeled after the company's Camelot Lifetime Designer Shingles.

Camelot 30 Designer Shingles incorporate the company's proprietary Advanced Protection technology, which reportedly reduces unnecessary filler and improves the shingles' performance. The shingles are available in barkwood, antique slate, weathered wood, charcoal and shakewood and feature StainGuard Protection.

Roof coating is waterproof

Nationwide Chemical Coatings Mfrs. Inc. has introduced LIQUI-TARP,® a temporary, protective, waterproof roof coating designed for storm-damaged roof systems.

LIQUI-TARP is a matte-finish, elastomeric, modified acrylic roof coating designed to temporarily protect and extend the life of a damaged roof system until a permanent roof restoration can be accomplished. The coating is available in light blue, white and custom colors.

LIQUI-TARP is recommended for well-draining roof surfaces and reportedly will adhere to weathered wood, shakes, plywood, clapboard, primed metal, galvanized steel, aluminum, tin, copper, asbestos, asphalt, urethane, polyester, primed Styrofoam,™ fiberglass, built-up roofs, bonded roof gravel, rolled roofing, polymer-modified bitumen membranes, mineral-surfaced roofing, concrete tiles, clay tiles, masonry tiles, primed synthetic or aluminum, adobe, slate, slab and other substrates.

Service manager offers updates

Roof Express has introduced its Windows Mobile Edition, Version 3 REWin,™ which includes the Roof Express WorkOrder™ Module, a tool designed for service crews to document their work and other repair opportunities they find while on roofs.

Roof Express WorkOrder provides digital field data collection, aerial imagery roof mapping technology and proposal building software and allows users to document service calls with before and after photographs. In addition, the system reportedly allows service crews to efficiently capture up-sell opportunities for repair work discovered on leak calls by producing at least 30 percent more proposals.

Framing system allows flexibility

Chicago Clamp Co. has introduced its Joist Grip Framing Clamp System, a framing system that can be installed under an existing corrugated roof deck and reportedly has a distributed load capacity of 4,000 pounds in uplift and download conditions. The framing system can be used to support rooftop units, exhaust fans and skylights.

Joist Grip Framing Clamp System is bolted into place and said to offer greater flexibility in framing installation, removal and relocation. The system includes four Jaw Clamps, four T-Brackets and four pieces of 2- by 4- by 1/8-inch structural-grade tubing. The system can be used without drilling or using specialized tools and reportedly reduces project costs, minimizes installation times, and reduces risks associated with joist loading and roof framing projects.

Light is solar-powered

Larson Electronics has introduced SPLED-5, a solar-powered area light that features a rechargeable 12-hour run-time battery and can be surface-mounted or affixed to a pole or rail.

SPLED-5's 8-watt solar panel powers a 5-watt light-emitting diode (LED) light that reportedly dims and brightens automatically based on an integrated motion detector. The light features an integrated day and night sensor that is said to trigger the light to turn on in dim mode once the ambient light reaches a low lumens threshold, such as during late evening. At night, the light reportedly provides 12 hours of low illumination over 200 square feet. When approached, an integrated motion detector will increase the LED light's intensity. At high intensity, the light can produce eight hours of illumination.

Report aids solar installers

EagleView Technologies™ has introduced a solar 3-D roof measurement report that provides information for solar integrators, solar installers and the roofing industry. The report features information needed to calculate solar exposure, roof square footage and solar panel placement.

Pipe support is adjustable

OMG Roofing Products has introduced its Height Adjustable Strut Model Pipe-Guard, which is designed to support multiple small pipes in one location.

Height Adjustable Strut Model Pipe-Guard reportedly is flexible and can be used with a wide range of small rooftop pipes, including gas and refrigeration lines, electrical and solar conduit, and HVAC lines. The pipe guard is said to be compatible with PVC, copper, cast iron and most other pipe materials and is adjustable to heights from 5 to 10 inches.

Height Adjustable Strut Model Pipe-Guard has a wide base, which reportedly provides maximum stability, and is said to install quickly and easily. The base reportedly will not damage roof covers and helps decrease pipe motion caused by vibration.
