Sheathing eliminates thermal bridging

GAF has announced EnergyGuard™ Polyiso Insulated Sheathing to eliminate thermal bridging in new construction and retrofit applications.

EnergyGuard Polyiso Insulated Sheathing is manufactured with Environmental Protection Agency-compliant blowing agents containing no chlorofluorocarbons or hydrochlorofluorocarbons and reportedly reduces energy costs because of its high R-value. The 4- by 8-foot boards are available in 1/2-, 3/4-, 1- and 2-inch thicknesses for a range of applications.

Toolboxes offer protection

Buyers Products Co. has introduced three-point latch underbody toolboxes to complement its line of tool and truck boxes.

The three-point, die-cast, locking T-handle latch system reportedly provides better security, tighter door sealing and less stress on toolbox hinges. The toolboxes are offered in a variety of size options available in polished, diamond-tread aluminum or 14-gauge steel with a 12-gauge steel door in a black or white powder-coat finish. The toolboxes feature a 1/2-inch-wide automotive-style door gasket to protect against leaks, and the rain-channel design and continuous, hidden hinge protects against moisture and road dirt.

Roofing software converts sketches

RoofLogic has introduced new roof system design software with RoofCAD 6 to convert rough sketches to computer-aided design formats.

The software has more than 50 new features and changes, including EagleView® Technologies drawings import capability; redesigned interface with tabs for drawings; flyout Smart Objects and symbol browsers; native PDF export; new fill and line colors; 2013 AutoCAD compatibility; a single-ply seam layout tool; and a new groupings feature on the takeoff record.

Retrofit roof system introduced

Shingles are updated

Atlas Roofing Corp. now features its HP Technology in its Pinnacle Pristine, StormMaster Slate and StormMaster Shake shingles.

HP Technology shingles feature oversized dimensions and increased exposure, a 1 1/4-inch-wide nailing area and two FASCTAC® sealant lines, all of which reportedly provide easier measurements, faster and more accurate installation, secure fastening, curb appeal, and a 130-mph wind warranty using a standard four-nail application.

IKO expands shingle colors

IKO Industries Ltd. has added Beachwood as a new color to its architectural laminated shingles line. The color is a combination of a light, grayish white with a light beige or sand color. The lighter shades reportedly enhance reflectance and will not discolor with algae streaks.

Seismic rooftop bases introduced

Thybar Corp. has introduced Seismic/Wind-load Rated Bases for rooftop equipment mounting.

The bases are reportedly manufactured to meet International Building Code® and ASCE/SEI 7, "Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures," requirements and are custom manufactured to fit the varying specifications of rooftop units. Base options include built-in roof slope, additional height, built-in filters or sound traps, and a pressure-treated wood nailer. The bases can be welded and shipped to job sites in one piece, or the corners are welded to minimize the number of pieces.
