Sunglasses offer all-day protection

Fatheadz Eyewear has introduced its Fatheadz V2.0 collection of sunglasses designed for all-day sun and debris protection.

Sunglasses in the V2.0 collection feature polycarbonate polarized lenses for maximum impact resistance and ultraviolet protection. Each pair of lenses reportedly has an anti-reflective coating to reduce glare and eye strain; a flash mirror coating to reflect rays of light from surfaces such as water and snow; and a hydrophobic coating to facilitate water droplet runoff. The hydrophobic coating also repels grease and fingerprints. Fatheadz V2.0 sunglasses are available in multiple colors and four lens color options.

Metal panels meet code standards

McElroy Metal Inc. has announced its Mirage Panels and U-Panels received a Uniform Evaluation Service evaluation report declaring the metal roof panels comply with Section 1507.4 of the International Building Code (IBC) and Section R905.10 of the International Residential Code (IRC).

The evaluation found the metal roof panels' structural performance and fire- and weather-resistance properties comply with IBC and IRC standards. Mirage Panels are concealed fastener roof panels with 8-inch on-center ribs and a Class A fire rating. The panels reportedly can be installed over solid deck or open framing and commonly are used in the mini-storage industry. U-Panels are exposed fastener wall and roof panels with a 3/4-inch rib height and 6-inch on-center rib spacing. U-Panels also are said to be Class A fire-rated.

Underlayment is lightweight

TYPAR® has introduced Surround® VR Underlayment, a high-performance synthetic roof underlayment said to reduce the amount and weight of material needed for installation.

Surround VR Underlayment reportedly is 10 times stronger and weighs seven times less than 30-pound felt. Made from a waterproof, synthetic polymer material, the underlayment won't buckle or warp when wet. The underlayment can withstand up to six months of ultraviolet exposure and performs well in temperatures ranging from -40 F to 240 F. Surround VR Underlayment can be installed under shingles, shakes, tile, slate and metal roofs.

Mod bit membranes are self-adhering

Mule-Hide Products Co. has introduced SA-APP KoolCap® and SA-APP KoolCap FR modified bitumen roof membranes—self-adhering, granular-surfaced cap sheets designed to adhere to a variety of substrates used in new roofing, reroofing and flashing detail applications.

SA-APP KoolCap and SA-APP KoolCap FR membranes are manufactured with CURE Technology,® a solvent-free thin-film technology said to increase granule retention, improve resistance to discoloration and incorporate ultraviolet stabilizers to increase durability. Each membrane roll covers about 100 square feet of roof surface. The membranes' bright white surfaces reportedly enable them to exceed California Title 24 energy code requirements and achieve a solar reflectance index of 90. SA-APP KoolCap FR membranes also are Class A fire-rated.

The SA-APP KoolCap Touch-Up Kit also is available for use treating membrane lap areas, details and repairs during SA-APP KoolCap membrane installation. The coating can be applied with a sprayer, roller or brush and is available in 1-gallon cans.

Face shield adheres to goggles

Brass Knuckle® has introduced its Vader Combo, a vented goggle and face shield combination designed to protect against impacts, splashes and ultraviolet rays.

The aqua-green goggles are designed to maximize user comfort with a roomy, over-the-glasses fit; seal around the nose, eyes and brow with soft rubber; and reverse venting. The goggles also are said to feature polycarbonate lenses with a hard coating for impact resistance and ultraviolet protection and Brass Knuckle's N-FOG™ anti-fog lens coating to prevent condensation in wet or moist conditions. The face shield is adhered to the goggles instead of attaching to a hard hat, ensuring the shield follows head movements to keep the protective cover closer to a user's face.
