Respirator provides custom fit

Gateway Safety Inc. has introduced PeakFit,® a respirator with an improved design said to provide a nearly custom fit for all users. It reportedly has a unique contoured shape and ample coverage area to increase ease of breathing, as well as a molded, cushioned nose bridge that fits most faces and eliminates metal nose pinch. The integrated, one-piece cloth head strap is adjustable and said to be more durable than most loosely constructed stapled versions.

PeakFit is available in three versions: original PeakFit, which provides filtration against aerosols free of oils below the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL); PeakFit OV, which provides additional filtration against aerosols free of organic vapors below the PEL; and PeakFit AG, which provides additional filtration against aerosols free of organic vapors and acid gases below the PEL.

Cordless nailer increases productivity

Duo-Fast® Construction has introduced the first Fuel Powered Cordless Roofing Nailer System, Model DFCR175C. The tool reportedly is easy to use, drives two nails per second and holds 120 nails per coil.

Model DFCR175C allows users to drive nails sequentially by pushing the tool down and pulling the trigger. It is said to be faster than hand nailing and work for a wide range of roofing jobs. The nailer features an adjustable depth of drive that is said to reduce and often eliminate shingle blow-through.

Model DFCR175C has a single-door magazine for easy loading of the coil nails, skid guards and belt hook. It comes with an adjustable shingle guide for precise nail placement and has a soft grip handle for greater control. It can drive 2,200 nails per battery charge and 950 nails per fuel cell.

Liner saves time

Carlisle Residential, a division of Carlisle Construction Materials, has added a split-release liner to its Water & Ice Protection (WIP®) 300HT self-adhering roof underlayment. The liner is said to make the underlayment easier to handle and install and significantly reduce the time required for labor.

WIP 300HT is a high-tensile-strength rubberized asphalt underlayment said to withstand temperatures up to 250 F. The skid-resistant membrane is available in black or white and reportedly resists water penetration.

Anchor protects workers

Miller Fall Protection has released its Miller Fusion™ Roof Anchor Post, a versatile single-point anchor that reportedly adapts to a wide range of roof system designs, including standing seam, membrane, metal sheathing, concrete and wood. The anchor post is said to reduce installation times by more than 50 percent and, in the event of a fall, protect workers by maintaining a secure connection to a structure as well as protect the structure with an energy-absorbing load distribution system.

The anchor post's internal components are constructed of stainless steel, and the steel post and base are zinc-plated and powder-coated.

Ladder safety device provides stability

LockNClimb, a ladder safety and stabilty device made of 1/4-inch 6061-grade aluminum, is engineer-certified to withstand loads in excess of Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements.

LockNClimb is said to be spring-loaded and able to fit any extension or A-frame ladder. The device reportedly supports 16- to 28-foot-long extension ladders.
