ABC Supply sponsors home renovation

ABC Supply sponsored a home renovation for U.S. Navy veteran Chris Hixon’s family.

ABC Supply Co. Inc., Beloit, Wis., recently sponsored a home renovation for a U.S. Navy veteran’s family.

ABC Supply partnered with “Military Makeover,” a TV show that provides free home remodels to deserving veterans and their families. The company was significantly involved with renovating the home of Chris Hixon’s family. Hixon, a 27-year Navy veteran who served in the Persian Gulf during Operation Desert Storm and Desert Shield, lost his life in 2018 while defending the lives of students during the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Fla. Hixon is survived by his wife, Debra, the daughter of a Navy veteran, and their two sons, Corey and Thomas, a Marine Corps Reserve officer.

ABC Supply sponsored the roofing component of the renovation by donating materials and paying for installation. In addition, a team of ABC Supply associates worked alongside the “Military Makeover” crew and community volunteers to complete the renovation project, which also included updates to the home’s interior and yard.

“American pride is one of our core values, and I couldn’t think of anyone more worthy of a helping hand than Chris’ family,” says Mike Jost, chief operating officer for ABC Supply. “Chris is a true American hero, and we were humbled by the opportunity to help ‘Military Makeover’ give his family the gift of a renovated home.”

The episode featuring the family was filmed in December 2019 and aired on the Lifetime network Feb. 14. The episode now is available to watch at militarymakeover.tv.

In addition, ABC Supply has acquired the assets of Midwest Wholesale Materials Co., a Madison, Wis.-based distributor of siding, windows, doors and steep-slope roofing products. The acquisition allows ABC Supply to enhance its service in Madison and the surrounding communities while building relationships with professional contractors and builders. ABC Supply now has four locations in Madison and 18 locations in Wisconsin.
