Close-up

Nestled at the end of a residential street in Elizabethtown, Ky., stands the Keith residence. The neo-Mediterranean-style home has the clean lines of Frank Lloyd Wright's design style with Spanish influences. Its bright red door stands out among the surrounding trees and vegetation.

The original roof was constructed using traditional asphalt shingles, but six years after installation it needed to be replaced. As a result, the Keiths sought a different roofing option for their home. This led the owners to choose a standing-seam metal panel roof system.

Nett Construction LLC, Elizabethtown, installed 100 squares of Metal Sales Manufacturing Corp.'s 24-gauge, 16-inch-wide vertical seam steel panels with a Kynar 500® coating in dark bronze. The panel color complements the home's exterior accents around the windows and front door.

The Elizabethtown residence reroofing project was completed in spring 2011.
