What is your position within your company?
I am the owner and president of Tri-County Roofing & Sheet Metal Inc., Westminster, Md.

What is your favorite vacation?
I enjoy going to Zion, Utah, with my wife, Rebecca.

What is the most unusual roofing project of which you have been a part?
The Arlington House in Arlington, Va. The house has historic status, so all the work needed to be completed by hand to preserve the building's historical integrity. We could not use power tools or power equipment, so we installed a TREMCO® cold-applied roof system. We also replaced interior log beams with new beams that matched the original wood type and milling style.

Why did you become involved in the roofing industry?
During the summer of 1983, two friends invited me to join them in the roofing industry, promising I would be doing government work for good pay. My first project was the Naval Research Center in Annapolis, Md. The work was hard, but I loved working on roofs and experiencing the diversity of the different roofing projects I tackled. After that, as they say: "The rest is history!"

What's your favorite roofing material to work with? Why?
I like to work with old built-up roof membranes because it definitely provides a satisfying day of hard work.

What song are you listening to over and over?
"Hey Pretty Girl" by Kip Moore, which was our wedding song.

If you could meet any historical figure, whom would you meet? Why?
I would like to meet John Wayne because he is the man of all men!

What was your first job?
I worked on my parents' farm in White Marsh, Md., at a young age.

People would be surprised to know …
I am a master black belt in the martial arts.

What items can you never leave the house without?
My cell phone, pocketknife and wallet

If you could have any superpower, what would it be? Why?
I would like to have the ability to read minds so I could know what my competitors are bidding on jobs.

What's the most exciting/adventurous thing you've done?
Rebecca and I rode our Harley-Davidson® bike on the "Tail of the Dragon" in Deals Gap, N.C.

If you had a time machine, would you go to the future or the past? Why?
I would go to the past to say goodbye to my dad before he died.

What is your favorite stress reliever?
I love to go hiking and backpacking on the Appalachian Trail with my wife.

What do you consider your most rewarding experience?
I participated in a volunteer mission after Hurricane Katrina hit.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A movie stuntman

Goofy's soft shell crab sandwich!

The job diversity—I never get bored, and I love a challenge!
