What is your position within your company?
I am president of CYE Enterprises Inc., Jacksonville, Fla.

Why did you become involved in the roofing industry?
Three generations of my family have been involved in the roofing industry. My paternal grandfather owned a roofing company, and the roofing trade and entrepreneurial spirit were passed down through the generations.

What is your roofing industry involvement?
My company is an NRCA member, and we recently joined The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress. I currently serve on NRCA's board of directors, and I also serve on several NRCA committees.

What was your first roofing experience?
In the mid-1980s, my father was a superintendent for my grandfather's roofing company, O.V. Campbell & Sons Roofing at the Fort Knox Army base in Kentucky. My mother also was involved in the business as an administrative assistant, and my siblings and I frequently would visit job sites. We traveled from project to project and location to location with the roofing crew. It was during these years my passion for the roofing industry flourished.

What is your favorite food?
Any kind of seafood

What was your first job?
My first job was working part-time at my father's roofing company, Campbell Roofing & Construction, Byron, Ga., in an administrative support role during high school.

What do you consider a waste of time?
Complaining—I prefer to acknowledge a challenge or obstacle and spend my time working on a solution.

What is your favorite stress reliever?
Cooking

What quality do you most admire in a person?
Honesty

My favorite part about working in the roofing industry is …
I get to meet and work with diverse men and women. My days in the field are completely different from my days in the office, but I enjoy both equally.

Big city or small town?
Big city

What are the most high-tech items in your house?
I'm a tech geek, so I have drones, Go Pros, computers, an Apple Watch and an Amazon Echo Show.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wish I had a more exciting response, but even as a young child I always aspired to be an entrepreneur.

What do you consider your most rewarding experience?
My marriage and business partnerships have both been extremely rewarding, but my partnership in marriage is the most rewarding experience in which I continue to grow the most.
