MVP Awards

The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress, which was established within the National Roofing Foundation (NRF) to fund programs addressing critical roofing industry issues, has announced a call for entries for its Most Valuable Player (MVP) Awards Program.

The program is designed to honor one outstanding roofing worker from various regions (New England, Mid-Atlantic, South Atlantic, East South Central, West South Central, East North Central, West North Central, Mountain, Pacific, noncontinental U.S., Canada and Mexico). The awards recognize excellence in the roofing industry and allow recipients to serve as role models for other roofing workers, as well as increase professionalism and attract more workers to the roofing industry.

Up to three employees per branch office of a contracting company may be nominated. Nominees must hold positions no higher than foreman and can be nominated in the following categories: outstanding on-the-job performance; attracting new roofing workers and helping retain existing workers; contributions to a team effort; community service and volunteerism; and other noteworthy contributions and activities.

Judges will include recognized roofing professionals from the contractor, manufacturer and supplier communities. Judges' decisions will be based on evidence of professionalism; uniqueness or significance of a nominee's contributions; and benefit to a nominee's company, co-workers or community.

Award recipients will receive complimentary airfare and hotel accommodations for one night during NRCA's 119th Annual Convention in Las Vegas Feb. 12-16, 2006. Each winner also will receive one complimentary conference registration and exhibit hall pass, as well as a ticket to the NRCA Member Breakfast. Winners will be formally honored and presented with award certificates during the NRCA Member Breakfast.

All applications must be submitted by Oct. 31, 2005. For more information or to obtain entry forms, contact Bennett Judson, NRF's executive director, at (847) 299-9070 or (800) 323-9545, Ext. 7513; e-mail bjudson@nrca.net; or access NRCA's Web site at www.nrca.net.
