Weather alerts forecast severe weather

MetLoop LLC has developed new weather-forecasting technology capable of alerting contractors and building owners to approaching bad weather.

A team of military-trained meteorologists receives real-time data from NEXRAD (next-generation radar) stations across the U.S. and issues forecasts and alerts for different types of severe weather, including hail, rain, snow, wind gusts and tornadoes. The MetAlerts™ produced by the meteorologists reportedly are 95 percent accurate and specific enough to determine whether an individual building will be affected by a weather event. The alerts are issued one to three hours before a severe weather event occurs and are delivered to users' smartphones via MetLoop's app.

MetMaps™ are a series of online weather maps that enable users to determine where significant weather events have occurred or will occur. The maps depict a variety of information, including temperatures, forecasts and satellite images.
