Two-component adhesive cures quickly

Mule-Hide Products Co. Inc. has introduced its Helix™ Low-Rise Adhesive. The adhesive reportedly provides clean adhesion of roof insulations, thermal barriers, cover boards and fleece-backed single-ply membranes to a variety of roof substrates.

Helix Low-Rise Adhesive is a two-component, solvent-free polyurethane foam that requires no mixing before application. Both parts of the adhesive are applied simultaneously in a 1:1 ratio through a static mix tip in continuous ribbons or beads said to cure fully in minutes. The odorless, environmentally friendly adhesive does not require mechanical fasteners and reportedly maintains strong wind-uplift resistance.

Helix Low-Rise Adhesive is available in cartridge twin-pack tubes or two-tank sets. The cartridge twin-pack tubes have a coverage rate of 600 square feet, and the two-tank sets have a coverage rate of 1,000 to 3,000 square feet, depending on bead spacing.

Ladder systems offer fall protection

Honeywell has introduced its Miller Vi-Go™ Ladder Climbing Safety Systems designed to provide continuous fall protection as users climb fixed ladders. The systems are available in kits or as a build-your-own option.

The Vi-Go System Kit with automatic pass-through and the Vi-Go System Kit with manual pass-through can accommodate up to four workers at a time and feature attachment mechanisms that will not open if installed incorrectly. Designed to accommodate cables with 5/16-inch or 3/8-inch diameters, the kit with automatic pass-through also features an automatic, corrosion-resistant Vi-Go cable sleeve said to travel smoothly along cables and instantly lock when a fall occurs. Users reportedly can operate the system using one hand—no pins or external parts are required.

The kit with manual pass-through can accommodate cables with 3/8-inch diameters, and users must manually remove or insert the cable with intermediate guides. Cable guides reportedly secure the lifeline to prevent cable wear, and the durable cable sleeve instantly locks in the event of a fall. The manual Vi-Go cable sleeve is not included in the kit and must be purchased separately.

The Build-Your-Own System is said to be ideal for multiple system installations that require cutting cable on a job site. Users can select a top-bracket assembly; a bottom-bracket assembly; continuous or manual Vi-Go cable guides; a fast-attach fitting for use with cables with 3/8-inch diameters; a cable; and an automatic or manual Vi-Go cable sleeve.

Membrane resists UV degradation and heat

The Garland Co. Inc. has made available its KEE-Stone® FB 60 fleece-backed thermoplastic membrane designed for use as part of a two-ply hybrid roof system.

The KEE-Stone FB 60 membrane is formulated using DuPont™ Elvaloy® HP Ketone Ethylene Ester (KEE) said to provide strong resistance to ultraviolet (UV) degradation and heat while maintaining flexibility. The membrane reportedly is reinforced with a polymer-coated scrim to allow the KEE compound above and below the scrim to fuse together, increasing the membrane's puncture and tear strength.
