One, two, new

ROOFPAC’s Emerging Leaders Club joins two long-standing donor clubs.

At such a critical time when politicians from everywhere on the political spectrum are competing to hold office, the importance of political action committees cannot be overstated. PACs use their resources to support candidates who share their interests and concerns about legislative issues. ROOFPAC is NRCA’s PAC and serves as the voice of the roofing industry in Washington, D.C. In 2020, more than 90% of the political candidates supported by ROOFPAC won their elections, solidifying the roofing industry’s influence on Capitol Hill.

ROOFPAC has held several events you may have attended, but did you know ROOFPAC also has donor member clubs with various perks? These clubs and some new programs offer different ways to help raise funds that will be targeted toward NRCA’s legislative goals.

ROOFPAC has two long-standing donor clubs—the Political Insiders Council ($5,000 annual donation) and Capitol Hill Club ($1,000 annual donation). Now, ROOFPAC is excited to launch its Emerging Leaders Club ($250 annual donation).

Please keep in mind all contributions are welcome and vital to ROOFPAC’s success. Whether you give $5 one time or set up a monthly donation, each dollar advances our advocacy team’s efforts to support pro-business members of Congress and candidates running for office.

Members of ROOFPAC’s donor clubs receive specific benefits and recognition for their support. Perks of the Political Insiders Council include complimentary access to ROOFPAC events throughout the year; a private car service during NRCA’s annual convention and the International Roofing Expo;® the ability to direct $1,000 to a member of Congress or political candidate of your choosing; an opportunity to attend events with members of Congress; an annual gift and White House holiday ornament; name recognition on NRCA’s website, nrca.net, and at ROOFPAC events; and reserved seating at major NRCA events.

As a Capitol Hill Club member, you receive name recognition on NRCA’s website and at ROOFPAC events, complimentary attendance to two ROOFPAC receptions of your choosing and a White House holiday ornament.

And now, those who join the Emerging Leader Club receive name recognition on NRCA’s website and at ROOFPAC events, as well as swag bags of ROOFPAC goodies.

Important contributions

NRCA recently has achieved a great deal on your behalf, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. We led an industrywide effort to make sure roofing work was deemed as an essential business in the U.S. We worked to get important legislation passed, including the Paycheck Protection Program that helped protect businesses while ensuring expenses paid with forgiven loan funds are fully tax-deductible. We also secured a $52 million increase in funding for career and technical education state grants that will benefit the industry throughout the supply chain.

But funding has come up short during the past year after receptions and events were canceled. With real economic uncertainties, a new administration and one-party control of Congress, it is more important than ever to have your voice heard in Washington, D.C.

To continue building on our achievements, we need your help and ask you to consider making a donation. Any amount you can contribute will help NRCA continue to fight on your behalf.

We are excited for this opportunity to increase ROOFPAC’s influence, and we could not do it without the support of our members and generous sponsors. We hope you will consider joining the ROOFPAC community by donating today at nrca.net/advocacy/ROOFPAC.

Teri Dorn is NRCA's director of federal affairs.
